To be disgusted at neighbours storing full dog poo bags in shared alleyway

I've just moved in and already got off to a bad start with next door neighbour as she was outraged at me pressure washing the filthy decking in my garden. Water trickled into her garden and she was fuming and actually came to my property to confront me and then stormed off when I offered to sweep any dirt once the water had naturally evaporated. Turns out she has sealed her drain so only gutter water can go down it and surface water has nowhere to go!

Anyway, NDN has a very yappy dog. It yaps at any slight noise from our side. Full bags of its stinking excrement are thrown over the top of their garden gate several
times a day. There is now a pile of about 8 filled dog poo bags right outside their gate in the alleyway between our respective houses. My garden gate is adjacent to hers so I have to walk within mere cm of the stinking mass to access my garden. Alleyway is 180cm (I measured it in preparation for fence).

NDNs also store various items of rubble in this alleyway including 2m high door frames (for their business) and bags of rubble. My children have to pass all this crap and I do worry they could be injured by it.

Would you bother speaking to them about it, given the tirade from her about pressure washing, or go straight to putting a note through the door? Would all this bother you? My plan is speak or note and then resort to council if need be.

I fully intend to erect a 2m fence right down the alley as soon as funds permit. This has tainted the move for me a bit. It's my first home post-divorce and wanted it to feel like a happy and peaceful sanctuary. I was left quite shaken by the confrontation the other day and it's been on my mind since. TIA.

If you or a child fell and were injured from rubbish left in an access alleyway I think you would be able to sue.

In apartment buildings, rules on keeping entrances clear are strict fire guildlines.

I think you need to check it out.
Rats, your childs safety.
What if you were in the alleyway at night and tripped on this rubbish and hurt yourself.

The dog shit is just shocking and would infuriate anyone.
I like dogs but dog shit totally winds me up.

You need to take photos every single day stuff is there.

We have a fence with space in between slats and u can smell the poo from 3 rottweiler/german shepherd. On hot days it is horrendous. They are allowed poo and wee everywhere and never taken out of back garden. SPCA have been around multiple times and have left the dogs there! Anyway, just to let you know be careful of fence you get, we are planning on a wall to stop it wafting through.
Why some people get pets I will never know.

Perhaps if you block your part of the alleyway with your own stuff e.g. wheelie bins, an unwanted bed frame, gardening rubbish , horse manure, etc. the neighbour will get the message that the alleyway is for access not for storage. Then the neighbour may come to you and ask for the alleyway to be kept clear.

If they own the land they can store things there, unless the deeds specify that the alley should be kept clear for access. Even then it is a civil matter.

That's dreadful, sheer laziness, it's no effort to triple bag dog poo and bin it, it will get worse as it gets hotter.
As for the rubble and frames, that really is dangerous.
I would have a word or post a note and if that fails, report her.

I had similar. Neighbour used side path that we shared to install a rotary dryer. So I had to duck under her washing to get in and out of house. Then she put a table and chairs beside my front door. Bloody nightmare so when she moved out I put a gate blocking off the part that accessed my door. Pleased I did, so I support your fence idea OP!

The next tenant let her dog out to shit in the side path rather than walking it. So there was a corner devoted entirely to dog poo. She also packed bin bags down the length of the path. Luckily it was managed by a leasehold company and I could complain to them. She usually tidied after I complained but would lapse back into being disgusting. I understand how stressful it is to see and deal with every day Flowers
