Love Island AIBU?

Just read a couple of 'highlights' from Love Island contestants for this year. One said the kind of man she's after is the kind who would 'rip her a new a##hole' and another said she had sex 8 times a day and had sex in a toilet the day before.

God only knows the effect this kind of stuff has on young teens of both genders who watch it. So much for Love Island caring less about mental health or looking after contestants more.

AIBU in thinking this is just out of control now?
YABU - Love Island is just a bit of fun
YANBU - Love Island has gone way too far (again)

The show was about reality TV leading to suicide or suicidal thoughts.
It includes Jeremy Kyle, love Island, benefit tv shows.
The ex beauty queen who had sex on love Island required medication and suicide watch after the show.
Countless suicide attempts that don't make it to the papers as it was a failed attempt.
It is on C4.

I do wonder why, just for one year, they couldn't get normal looking people to enter.
I doubt 'normal' looking people are queuing up to be on it to be honest.

The ultra glam, tanned, 'fit' look is because they want to be famous. But they have little to no talent so this is their only way in. They're hardly seeking long term love, just the opportunity to shag about in a hot place while getting exposure in the hopes it will lead to instagram deals, newspaper articles and future TV appearances.

The 'normal' people wouldn't stoop to the levels the contestants do either. Self respect goes a long way.
@CopperBear Okay.
You've your opinion on these shows. There is evidence on the show I mentioned.
I may not have the correct wording.
I don't have time for this ridiculousness.

Thanks for taking the time to respond albeit rudely.

I work with children and have 8year olds who watch it in my classes!

My dd's friend was on it

It's all manipulated and staged though she did very well off the back of it and years later she still is. She was on the one with Sophie who sadly later died.

She said they were told to sit with a certain person so it could be filmed, and they had to do the same things over to get the best angle

When not filming they could do what they wanted

No shit! It's staged we would never have guessed
