To be horrified that Aldi have stopped my favourite jam..

Title says it all really. They've stopped making their raspberry conserve and I'm lost without it. My poor toast will have to now deal with some knock off raspberry jam. Alas! Worst part is they replaced it with rhubarb and strawberry?? Heavens no!

Well I've been to all the Aldi's in my city and none have it. They haven't for weeks. Instead it's usually shelf is cleared and they have other flavours there . So it sounds like it's discontinued? For now at least?

I just saw another post on the main board titled 'Does anyone make their own jam?'. I genuinely thought maybe that was your follow on post for this recent loss. 😂 However maybe you could have a look and get some ideas for recipes as lots of people seem to be contributing .

@Welikebeingcosy this made me chuckle .. nope that wasn't me! Although I served this jam to someone in a Victoria sponge once and she asked how I make my home-made jam and it's the best she'd had. Oh the memories...

The raspberry is good, I agree. I can't believe they would discontinue such a popular flavour. I think strawb/rhub will only be seasonal and the rasp will be back. I confess that I love the strawb/rhub. They also have a new black cherry one, I think.

It's so brilliant. I've made it loads. Generally a bit runnier than regular jam and needs to be kept in the fridge but it's honestly fantastic!

Don't get me wrong - Aldi is the king of supermarkets, but I do wish they'd stop having cracking products which suddenly just disappear once they've enticed you in.

Another vote for Lidl.

I was obsessed with their pizza bases for years, and then just like that, they vanished!! It’s been months but I still wander past that shelf in hope 😢

Will go and try Lidl tomorrow. They're usually similar in a lot of things so let's hope it's a close match. Need to try Asda too, as well as the sourdough toastie! Love me some sour dough.

I may be forced to admit I've never tried rhubarb and strawberry but it sounds is bleurgh. And such a waste since they have the strawberry jam section as it is. I may give it a try just to see what pushed them to such decisions.

Can we add Sainsburys Taste The Difference Salmon Pate to this list. They still sell it but changed the recipe to claggy bleurgh

Aldi are fuckers for doing this kind of thing. I loved their vegan rainbow rice. Got addicted and then bam - discontinued. Enraging.

Also, when I do like something I panic and buy 76 of whatever it is in case they stop making it. I have a whole drawer of lacura rose facial oil, and we were eating their frozen teriyaki chicken skewers from the Christmas range until Easter when I finally ran out!
