I am writing this to read back in one year

I am writing this to read back in six months. You don’t have to read it, but I know that this will motivate me to keep going.

I am 5’4 and 19 stone. I have been dealing with horrific postnatal for one year and have gained six stone since birth.

I am deeply unhappy and am self conscious. I no longer make an effort with myself and my clothes are all huge. I have a double chin that makes me hate my face.

I was never like this. I was always slim and happy, my goal and natural weight being 10 stone.

Yesterday, I started a keto diet, because I am desperate to keep it up. And I am vowing to keep doing this and beyond getting to my target weight.

I know it will happen in steps and that’s okay, but I can’t be this way any more. I am unhealthy and anxious about leaving the house and even sitting in public chairs in case they break. This isn’t healthy.

I have a child who I need to be here for, so I am doing this for him as much as myself.

In six months, I hope to have lost four stone, and by one year, or even two, I hope to be back to where I was.

I hope I come back to read this when I am happy in who I am, and what I am.

We're here for you. I blast low cal low carb 3 stone off in 12 weeks. Hardcore but made a big mental difference. You can do this, one step at a time.

We sound so similar @Okimbig. I also suffered PND that caused me to gain weight and become deeply unhappy with myself.

You can do this! I will cheer you on every step of the way!

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 15/06/2021 22:50

The LCHF boot camps here are always worth a look, healthy, delicious food, and a different way of eating that is sustainable long term.

You sound so motivated, you can do this!

Killeditwithkisses · 15/06/2021 22:51

Good luck OP!
Come back and read all the well wishes posted on here if you are having a challenging day.
One meal at a time is great advice, and reward yourself in a healthy way with each milestone you achieve.

Wonderful OP! 👏👏👏 that's fantastic. Well done, your determination is amazing especially after dealing with postnatal in this horrible year.

Cowbells · 15/06/2021 22:58

Great post. You can definitely do this.

Will you add some exercise too so that you gain tone and strength as you lose weight? Walking and body weight youtube videos are good. If you want some easy starter videos Leslie Sansone's walking workouts are great and you can do them in the kitchen if you don't want to work out in public.

Yay, this is a great idea!

Good luck! Remember to be realistic with goals though so 4 stone in six months is a lot, maybe the goal could be between 2 and 4 stone in six months? Obviously it's up to you and how much you're able to keep motivated over the long term but there's a possibility that you could lose motivation if for example you lose 3 stone in six months but your goal had been to lose 4.

partyatthepalace · 15/06/2021 23:04

Great idea OP. Am not a million miles from your position. Will be looking out for you and wishing you luck

Thisbastardcomputer · 15/06/2021 23:04

My niece did keto, she's lost about 5 stone, looks amazing and has a new man. Go for it and the best of luck x

I’m right behind you OP 🎈 🌻

igotdemons · 15/06/2021 23:21

You can do it, OP! 👏🏻

March last year I was 140kgs, 5ft 5. I’m now 98kgs, lost most of it between March and December last year. I’m having a break at the moment for medical reasons but I’m hoping to get another 20kgs off once the summer is over.

I was exactly like you, hated how I looked and felt anxious about leaving the house, sitting on furniture etc. I spent years making excuses not to attend my DH’s social/work functions as I was embarrassed that his work mates or friends would see he was married to someone who looked like I did 😢 I’ve never admitted this to him, even now I’ve lost some weight because it still embarrasses me. Actually my weight affected every area of my life for so long, I’m sad that I let it do that and I didn’t lose the weight sooner.

Glitterblue · 15/06/2021 23:23

Good luck! I'm just starting out, I'm 5ft 4 and 16 stone which is the heaviest I've ever been and I'm so fed up. We've been watching 1000lb Sisters and that's given me the kick up the backside that I needed!

That's a phenomenal weight loss, you should be extremely proud of yourself.

Hi ok, what a great idea!

I once did a diet called lipotrim, lost just over 5 stone in just under 3 months. It changed my life. Not for the faint hearted but it did work.

Good luck!

Seesawmummadaw · 16/06/2021 00:23

You can do this @Okimbig!
I believe in you!
