Bedtime for 9 year old

Hello! I've been a reader for ages but never a poster...
My 9 year old (10 in august) goes to bed 2030-2100. Sleeps till 0700- 0730 ish naturally.
My 6 year old (7 in august) is in bed earlier 2000 to 2030 and regularly sleeps 11 to 12 hours.
She is often exhausted at the end of the day but think this is just her - can't expect more than a 12 hour stint at night.

Both have showers and are read to, time spent with each. Son never seems that tired.
I get stick all the time from my other half, and whilst staying with my parents this half term, them as well. 2030 to 2100 far too late for a 9 nearly 10 year old 🙄 he honestly doesn't really sleep earlier and I think they just all crave an adult evening, when he is too old to go to bed super early now.

Beginning to think I'm way off the mark though as they all seem to think it. Are his sleep times normal? Am I honestly letting him be sleep deprived do you think? Happy to accept constructive criticism

9 year old goes to bed at 7.30 and is allowed to read, usually asleep by 8pm. Saturday nights allowed to stay up later - 9ish. They have no problems falling asleep that early and I like having child free evenings. If we are on holiday, I’m a lot more relaxed about bedtimes obviously.

My 9 year old DD is allowed to do what she likes until 9pm on a weeknight but then has to be in bed at 9. From there I let her read or listen to audiobooks as long as she likes so she usually falls asleep not long after.

Weekends she can stay up until 10pm or later. She knows that we won't read stories to her past 9.

DD same age is in bed 8.15, lights out 8.30. Usually asleep quite quickly. Woken for school at 7.30am.

Weekends and holidays are more liberal.

Yes, it may just be a case of your DH adjusting to the lack of adult evening. I think it’s awful for children to be sent to bed because adults want rid of them, rather than because they are tired! My DF always talks Of the 50s when he used to lay awake on summer evenings listening to the other kids playing outside.
Like you, I can’t be doing with kids up at 6am. No thank you!

5 yr old goes up around 8ish, read him a story, usually sound asleep around 8-30/45ish

9 yr old (10 in July) weekdays between 9 and 9-30 and weekend/school hols 10ish though if the wifes asleep i let him stay up till 11pm or so, then he sleeps in a bit longer in the morning which works for me as i WFH

noone elses business what time you deem is your kids bedtime anyway

My DD went up to bed at 8.15pm age 9 y.o., then read for a bit, then slept, this crept to 8.30 pm during lockdown , then when she turned 10 bedtime switched to 9pm, and at weekends allowed to stay up til 9.30pm on Saturday night. She has bags of energy and sleeps naturally until about 7.30 although often i wake her @ 7am so we have more time in the morning.
