My espresso machine needs descaling and the steam wand needs a proper clean. I haven't done this because the descaling liquid is at the back of the bottom cupboard and I can't bend down so need my husband to get it out for me.
Have I asked him to do that? No. I have no excuse for not asking him and I'm pissing myself off with it all.

Please tell me your own minor jobs that haven't been done.

God just about every task!
Picking up the endless fluff from the dog toys,
Washing up, cleaning coffee machine, mopping the floors, the list is endless.
Fortunately there is just me and the dogs here so nobody complains

OverByYer · 01/06/2021 22:49

Sorting the kitchen cupboards
Sorting the airing cupboard
Fixing my shoe rack
Ordering new wardrobe
Ordering new carpet

Scarby9 · 01/06/2021 22:51

Putting the duvet cover back on.
I can't go to bed until I do it, but I can't motivate myself to do it so I'm faffing on t'internet instead.

@Spermysextowel

I should do what I’ve long been threatening to do, which is take all the Warhammer stuff that’s cluttering up my son’s room, the landing & mostly my room to the dump. He hasn’t touched it since he was about 13 & he’s 22 now. I just think about how much it cost (a lot was for birthdays & Christmas) so I should try to Gumtree it or something but I just keep tripping over boxes of it instead.
Noooo it's worth a fortune!
Montyman · 01/06/2021 22:55

Going to the post office to get stamps to post a cheque. Feel like I’m living in 1992

BrilliantBetty · 01/06/2021 22:58

Emptying the dishwasher. I just leave it all day. Last minute horrible chore at night.

I've been meaning to clean out the wood-burning thing in our fire place, left here from previous residence. It was filthy when we moved in and still is almost a year later! I just can't work out how I'll clean it.

SeaToSki · 01/06/2021 22:59

Call the plumber and tell him that I need him to come round in 2 weeks time

jaundicedoutlook · 01/06/2021 23:00

The cat’s claws need a good clipping, but he’s a scratchy little b if he wakes up mid-prune, so I’ve put it off all day. Maybe tomorrow?

Wond3rment · 01/06/2021 23:13

So many, the current list of minor jobs

 • Accept an online appointment by replying with a 3 sentence email (yes, I know I should do it instead of typing this)
 • Order 3 light switches - they have been needed for 13 months
 • Finish a small mural on the wall of the gym
 • Sort out the laundry basket

That’s the stuff that pops into my mind

Staffy1 · 01/06/2021 23:22

Putting photos in frames. The frames have been sitting behind a chair in the lounge for months.

MagentaDragon · 01/06/2021 23:59

Filing. I haven't filed any paperwork since before my daughter was born and she is 4!! Grin

PacifyLulu · 02/06/2021 00:04

@SimonJT

Putting clothes away, I have a cleaner, if she comes and sees something on a close horse from a load she has done she shouts at me, so I make sure I do it before she comes now.
Clothes horse Apologies if this is a “Chester draws” moment and it’s a typo but if it’s not I wanted you to know.
Derbee · 02/06/2021 00:18

Changing my bedside lamp bulb. I don’t know what sort of bulb it needs, and can’t be bothered to work it out. I’ve just swapped lamps with DP Grin

HerRoyalNotness · 02/06/2021 00:22

Calling someone to replace two broken windows. They’ve probably been broken at least 4years now, but I just can’t be bothered and there always seems to be better things to spend money on.

I also have 3 boxes of things for goodwill, and I have 2. Years of photos to go through, edit and rename as appropriate, then backup on hard drive and discs.

nokia3210567 · 02/06/2021 00:25

Ah so many!

-paint garden fences
-pressure wash patio
-new lightbulb in back bedroom
-clean bathroom grouting
-dust venetian blinds (definitely don't do this as often as I am meant to!)
-order prescription
-make smear test appt
-see if I can actually book a dentist appointment yet!
-book an eye test, I keep getting passive aggressive texts and emails from specsavers lol

melj1213 · 02/06/2021 00:44

So many little jobs - fold the clean clothes that have been dry for about 2 days and are just staring at me on the airer; put away said clothes; tidy up the kitchen of all the little things that are so close to their "homes" but not quite; hoover the hall; wipe down the wall in the hallway where the kitchen fitters left dusty scuff marks 3 months ago etc etc

In my head I know that all of these jobs will take 5 minutes max to do but because of that they're always so easy to put off till later because "they'll only take a minute, I'll do it after XYZ" only by then I either cba or have justified putting it off till tomorrow

I really hate

Downunderduchess · 02/06/2021 03:23

All of them. I have a talk to myself every evening & plan to do some chores the next day but... I end up doing the bare minimum, then I have a shower and I don’t like doing housework/cleaning after that, so I make a coffee & sit in the garden.

1forAll74 · 02/06/2021 03:56

I had some bird feathers scattered on my bedroom floor last week, so swept them all up, ( I have three cats)). and thought, well, they are all cleared away now. Now,a week later, I dropped an eyeliner pencil, and it rolled under my bed, so knelt down on the floor to reach it, and there was the remains of a dead bird under my bed, and also a dead mouse.

I have been doing outside jobs, and painting my kitchen all week, and done no hoovering in any rooms at all.

Spermysextowel · 02/06/2021 06:05

Thanks all who’ve said I shouldn’t dump the Warhammer stuff. A lot of it is just as it came in the kit, untouched. There are special suitcase things with foam inserts to nurse special characters; a ‘Chester drawers’ to house paints. Every time I look at in despair I’ll resist the urge to incinerate it. Doing something constructive with it is still going to be on my mental list for some time though!

jelly79 · 02/06/2021 06:16

Booking car in
Painting a cupboard
Paying a parking fine

elQuintoConyo · 02/06/2021 06:19

I fill my days with the lovely little jobs to avoid the big ones: it's report-writing week, I've been procrastinating with picturr-hanging and Lego-sorting for the last two weeks Grin

Sewing that button back on the bottom of the duvet Vs writing a shit sandwich about Little Timmy's third term? No contest.

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 02/06/2021 06:35

I would change cleaner!

Cowbells · 02/06/2021 06:37
@Spermysextowel I think you should check out prices on ebay some is worth a pretty penny.
Is it really worth a fortune even if it is half painted and half made and has no original packaging? Because we could sell it by the kilo!

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 02/06/2021 06:39

Oh everything - I just don’t bother until a) I’m having people round, or b) there are so many it’s worth getting a handyman round to do the lot, or c) they become major

SimonJT · 02/06/2021 06:49

@PacifyLulu I have autocorrect on, it doesn’t always handle a typo well, seems to think people are ducking stupid quite often.
