So watched the TV program 'what are we feeding our kids' and horrified like most parents, but why didn't it list them? Or give a better idea than having loads of ingredients. Is sugar bad for you in moderation (I have a teaspoon on my morning porridge). Bread? White/brown/whole meal/seeded?

McDonald's are just beef aren't they?

Nuggets I get, and presumably hash browns?

I need a list just to get me started

Looking through my kitchen today, I think the main UPF things we eat are:
bread
breakfast things eg brioche & pain au chocs, cereal we only have weetabix/shreddies/rice crispies but still not great I guess
kids yoghurts - frubes and petit filous
cheese strings (we do have babybels too which seem to be just cheese)
crisps - the kids sometimes have wotsits and quavers in lunches
biscuits
oven pizzas
baked beans
quorn/veggie products - I was trying to reduce meat consumption so have been buying quorn nuggets and richmond veggie sausages

We do have a bread maker so I'm going to start using that again instead of buying the supermarket bread. Breakfast can be porridge or eggs.
They will not be happy about natural yoghurt instead of frubes though!

Any suggestions for a better snack/treat than crisps?

I’ve bought the packets of porridge for the kids to do themselves.

I’ve been looking at yeo valley fromage frais pouches. Not cheap but they’re organic Or. Maybe do yogurt in the evening meal instead of lunches.

Salted Popcorn maybe

I’ve been making flapjacks with agave syrup
And halving the butter.
And granola bars with whizzed up nuts, dates and seeds
Tried cocoa seed nut oat dedicated coconut balls . None cook ones. Kids love those.
Bought a lolly kit to make our own lollies.
Whizzing up frozen berries, natural/soya yogurt, banana and milk. Bloody lush they were

Have made jam. Frozen berries in a saucepan with a squeeze of agave syrup. A bit compote like. But it does thicken naturally and kids like it on their toast or natural yogurt

We bought various ryvita crispbreads. The girls liked the currant ones
