And your age?

Me and DH thinking of trying for baby #2 soon.

We are both mid 20s and were very lucky to conceive on the first cycle with DS. Very easy pregnancy with no issues.

DH seems to think it will be as easy as last time but I'm so worried about experiencing secondary infertility - I know no one can tell the future so it's nothing we can really plan for!

5mths for DS - 39
18mths for DD - 42

I'm now 43 with a 3yr old and 4mth old. Happy but knackered! Lol.

elliejjtiny · 28/05/2021 10:38

dc1 - 1 year aged 22
dc2 - 6 months aged 24
dc3 - 5 months aged 27
dc4 and dc5 were both conceived on the pill when I was 30 and 31

MoorGirl · 28/05/2021 10:39

@EmeraldShamrock so I'm hearing now! All those years of heartache eh. Funny old world.

shivawn · 28/05/2021 10:44

33, accidental pregnancy, conceived immediately on the one time we dropped our guard and took a chance (pulled out rather than used a condom).

ValidUser · 28/05/2021 11:05

I was 30. Took a few years including surgery, chemical pregnancies, diagnosing a clotting disorder and eventually IVF. DS is sleeping in my arms now.

RampantIvy · 28/05/2021 11:07

Started TTC at 24, nothing happened. After investigations I was told that the likelihood of pregnancy was very unlikely, so I forgot about it. Had DD at 41. So 17 years.

Ocean456 · 28/05/2021 11:08

Conceived DC on first go...
Been trying for a second child for almost 3 years
Unexplained secondary infertility..Never ever thought we’d be in this situation

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 28/05/2021 11:10

1st one - v quick, 3 or 4 months I think (age 30)
2nd one - 3 miscarriages before one stuck (age 33/34).

CloudofRain · 28/05/2021 11:13

Conceived easily but had multiple miscarriages. DD was born when I was 26. After a couple more miscarriages decided to stick with one.

Plantlady10 · 28/05/2021 11:18

2 years, I'm now 23 and pregnant with my first

OrangeRug · 28/05/2021 11:26

1st time - 9 months but my partner at the time worked away and was never there. I was 25 and ended up aborting the pregnancy that did eventually happen.
2nd time - 2 months. I was 26. Ended in missed miscarriage.
3rd time 4 months. I was 26 and my DD is now nearly three,

Italiandreams · 28/05/2021 11:29

First month all three times. Sadly one ended in miscarriage. Was 34, 36 and 37. We were very lucky.

Funnyface1 · 28/05/2021 11:44

They were both conceived the first month of trying much to my surprise. First at 24, second at 30. I think we must be a fertile match.

StevieNix · 28/05/2021 11:47

DS (age 3) was a nice surprise for me and DH lol (I was on the pill)

As it was so easy to conceive DS (even though we weren’t trying) we thought trying to conceive number 2 would be quick. However we’ve been trying for nearly 2 years now and no luck yet.

StevieNix · 28/05/2021 11:48

Sorry I forgot to say I was 24 when I conceived DS! Wish there was an edit button!

VettiyaIruken · 28/05/2021 11:55

1st was 8 months and 2nd was 6 months. Not trying as in tracking and planning but just if it happens it happens.

Scarlettpixie · 28/05/2021 11:56

It took us 3 years to conceive DS. I was 34 when he was born.

We tried for another for about 7 years to have another but eventually decided to stop. I went on the mini pill at that stage (early 40's) to resolve my horrendous periods (which it did spectacularly). When I say tried, I mean we didn't use contraceptive and at times I tracked my cycle. It just never happened.

With no reason to suspect secondary infertility, you will likely be fine. Just don't expect it to happen first try!

MyBabyBoyBlue · 28/05/2021 11:59

Age 30 - took 6 months, age 34 took 1 night!!

ShortColdandGrey · 28/05/2021 12:05

7 years of tests, miscarriages, and i said I couldn't try anymore. 1 month later I was pregnant again and we now have our beautiful DD.

Sceptre86 · 28/05/2021 12:12

28 with dd took a month.
29 with ds one missed pill.
34 with current baby 2 months.

Secondary infertility could happen to anyone but you are in your 20s and haven't even tried for your first yet!

Goawaymuppet · 28/05/2021 12:15

34 a month
35 a month
37 a month
39 a month.

PinkPurpleParade · 28/05/2021 12:16

First pregnancy - 1st cycle I think, contraception failure
Second pregnancy - 3 months ended is MC
Third pregnancy - 3 months

SophiePie · 28/05/2021 12:17

1st pregnancy took 3 months of trying, 2nd baby took 2 months

VestaTilley · 28/05/2021 12:19

Conceived first time of trying right after ending the contraceptive pill. I was 32 and gave birth at 33.

If you’re mid 20s you will in all likelihood be fine. Don’t worry if it takes a few months- that’s absolutely standard.
