Aibu to never dance again

I’ve never danced with my partner. I’ve witnessed him on a dance floor once in 13 years and he was like a drunken puppet wizard casting spells on the others on the dance floor. It was embarrassing to say the least. Dad dancing would have been a welcome relief.

I’m a bit sad we’ve never actually danced together but I’ve no desire to be cast into the bowels of Mordor on a night out. AIBU to avoid dance floors for the rest of my life?

Please tell me other people have partners who are closet wizards on the dance floor.

My DH is very self-conscious about dancing and does a lot of awkward shuffling, but isn't a bad dancer. He was so nervous about our first dance I put together a very basic choreography so he knew what to do.

I have always loved dancing and don't care what anyone thinks. One of my hobbies is belly dancing which I can do to a fairly high standard. Any other time I'm leaping round the floor like a maniac throwing my arms everywhere. I definitely dance like no one is watching

A bloke I knew at uni always used to do very complicated mimes when dragged up to dance - bowling at cricket, putting out the washing. At the time it was hilarious, but I suspect it would be a bit cringe if he still does that now

Do you not just dance around together at home?! We put music on in the kitchen when cook and it always ends in us having a dance together.

Opposite issue- my husband is a brilliant dancer! People literally clear the floor for him at weddings and clap in a circle around him, I’m just awkwardly hovering at the edge. I can’t keep up and feel like a total uncoordinated loon.
