I've posted about her before I know. But I do feel she speaks about inappropriate topics with my grandkids. I am really trying to enforce good behaviour with them right now and yet she told them a story about when she was young and a child in her class farted loudly at storytime and the whole class erupted in laughter. The kids were laughing hysterically but I do feel it was inappropriate and not enforcing good behaviour/encouraging bad habits.

OP posts:
JudyGemstone · 24/05/2021 22:10

I thought you were going to say she was taking talking about her sex life or something in front of them!

Farting is a completely appropriate topic for children.

You sound like a right boring old fart yourself.

AndroidsAliensAndWizards · 24/05/2021 22:15

Give over.

Flowers500 · 24/05/2021 22:17

Christ almighty, you're lucky she's around so the kids will actually willingly spend time, with this kind of attitude...

lazee · 24/05/2021 22:20

You are joking? Seriously?

SnarkyBag · 24/05/2021 22:20

Children discussing childish topics? Heavens forbid. now someone pass the OP some smelling salts before she gets an attack of the vapours

lazee · 24/05/2021 22:21

Poor kids 😂😂

Twolostsoulsswimminginafishbow · 24/05/2021 22:23

You sound like really hard work or that weirdo who posts, either way it’s odd.

Ginger1982 · 24/05/2021 22:32

You seem to get upset and offended a lot.

ElaborateSalad · 24/05/2021 22:32

But farts are funny...

PurpleDaisies · 24/05/2021 22:33

Farts are funny to the majority of children. It’s not inappropriate.

Cocomarine · 24/05/2021 22:35

@TrinidadQueen

Hmm It's just not appropriate in my eyes. I don't want them to think that this is acceptable or funny. It may sound negative but I want them to be respectful and to learn class and manners. I just don't like them discussing these childish topics and thinking it is funny. I find it crude.
But the whole reason that they erupt into giggles and love the story so much, is because they already know that it’s not acceptable behaviour. That’s what makes it funny 🤷🏻‍♀️
KatherineOfGaunt · 24/05/2021 22:36

You don't want children discussing childish things...?! Confused

What should they be discussing: the effect of Brexit on the FTSE100?

It sounds like your friend is much better at relating to children than you. You could learn something from her.

Mydogmylife · 24/05/2021 22:38

Unclench

SheilaWilcox · 24/05/2021 22:38

@cochineal7

I hope you don’t have Alexa, as she does lots of different fart sounds at first request.
Was just going to say this!

"Alexa, tell a fart joke!"

clpsmum · 24/05/2021 22:38

I don't want my grandCHILDREN discussing childish topics, listen to yourself!

Planty13 · 24/05/2021 22:39

Yeah I agree it’s childish but they ARE children!! Of course they find it funny! Live a little OP and let them be kids and laugh with their grandparents

PandemicPalava · 24/05/2021 22:40

Perfectly normal for kids to fall about laughing at fart stories. Nothing to do with class

Fallsballs · 24/05/2021 22:42

I think you’re a weirdo OP.

Armychefbethebest · 24/05/2021 22:42

Sounds like your ready for snapping and farting yourself op 🤣🤣🤣

WorraLiberty · 24/05/2021 22:44

Yeah God forbid a child should be childish

FFS

pinkstripeycat · 24/05/2021 22:46

Kids will learn this from their friends anyway. My kids swear now they’re in their teens. I don’t like it and tell them I don’t want to hear it. They know not to use it against people or outside of the home but I can’t control their every waking hour. Like my mum says they’re just words. Fart is the least of your concerns

Hadjab · 24/05/2021 22:48

@TrinidadQueen, I suspect farting wasn’t discussed when you were a child, so in your eyes, that’s as it should be. The reality is, children are childish, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, we should celebrate those kids who tell fart jokes, rather than trawl the internet for porn at a young age.let the kids enjoy themselves, don’t be the mean gran...

Palegreenstars · 24/05/2021 22:49

Farts are funny. A kid farting in class and ppl laughing is funny. Your friend told them a good story.

bert3400 · 24/05/2021 22:52

You sound like such a boring grandparent. Grandparents should be fun & cuddly and an escape from reality for a while. My god life is too bloody short to be so uptight . Go on do a fart and laugh....Grin

Maskedrevenger · 24/05/2021 22:54

Surely one of the best things about being a grandparent is the excuse to do childish things with your grandchildren? I love teaching mine silly jokes, none about farting or pooing so far, I might actively look some up, and my skipping and hopscotch are coming on a treat. You sound like a total fun sponge.
