to want a 2 way zip?

I'm trying to buy a new waterproof jacket. The mountain walking kind. Since I last bought one, all the main manufacturers seem to have done away with two way zips. No use to me as I need extra room around the bum. (I'm short and wide and like to do things like ride a horse in it...).

AIBU to think I should be able to find this for less than £280?

I bought a lovely one from Lighthouse recently which I’m pretty sure has a 2 way zip

My mountain coat has two way zip and is also totally waterproof. I’d never buy a mountain coat without a two way zip.

The regatta ones have two way zips but aren't advertised as such. Can't link it but the one I bought was a yellow regatta one called Rimona and it is excellent.

Thanks for all your suggestions (and confirmation that needing a 2 way zip INBU!)

I have been and bought the Rohan jacket suggested upthread. It’s just what I need- even the sleeves aren’t too long. (And happily I didn’t need the XL😀) The best part was that Rohan have instore recycling scheme that gives a 20% discount when you leave your old coat with them.

So a £190 coat for £150 just for putting my old coat in the bin!

Very happy. Thanks to the power of Mumsnet I am sorted.
