And is cleaning like a woman possessed?

Parents visiting for first time since Jan 2020. I am doing a deep, deep clean.
Tbh can't remember when I last did anything more than a basic 'let's not get cholera wipedown'

I spent most of the last 15 months supporting my colleagues on the front line as am nhs non clinical manager. I basically gave up cleaning and ironing and rest of family took care of what they could. Today I have leggings with a hole and a painting top on and I'm cleaning my house so people can come in and be hugged and tbh I think that sort of sums up the normality I have been longing for.

We hosted our daughter’s wedding last weekend. The house is a bomb site of muddy wedding dress drying out, decaying flowers and general mess. We came away so that the cleaners could do a day of getting it back into order.
It should be gleaming on our return, which is good because we’ve the next ones future in-laws coming for supper to meet us on Sunday.

TBH after so long of not having to do it, I’m dreading having to do a guest-blitz. The mere thought is exhausting.
I’ve been doing just enough that it all looks Ok - as long as I don’t peer too closely with my glasses on.

That’ll be me next weekend, I thought that this morning. Looking forward to seeing people but next Saturday it’ll be cleaning / shopping so I’ll be ready for a drink by time they arrive .

Brother and sil coming to stay. Will arrive in 2 hours. House will probably need about 30 minutes whip round. It's already so tidy from being in it all the time might be a nice excuse to do a bit extra though.

All the cleaning was worth it Grin
Sobbed through the hugging. A great relief!

That's so lovely to hear.

I wish I had family to hug😁

Glad you had a lovely time.

We have been to the pub and eaten a roast dinner i didn't cook myself, sat indoors listening to the wind howl, and drinking very nice red wine. I asked for coffee and someone brought it to me. Then we paid and walked away from the dirty plates .
