Manspreading loud-voiced shorts wearing twat prattling at FULL VOLUME to his mate on the train.

At least may I ping his mask and chuck his earbuds away?

FFS! Shut up, you're not at home!

No,don't hit him. He may suffer from hearing impairment and be unaware he is so loud. That really is very common. It's very difficult to be charitable about the shorts and man spreading. The best I can think of is that he's just had a vasectomy or sex reassignment surgery and there have been complications.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 12/05/2021 09:09

The thing is women don't generally go round slapping tsangers. Women tend not to be actively aggressive.

So when you want to swiftly show how irritated/bemused you are suggesting an unlikely act of physical violence is quite usual. It evokes an immediate undrsatadning of the helplessness felt by the wannabe slapper to the completely unknowing slappee.

And we, women, also offer similarly unlikely violence towards other women - like when we offer to go rond and slap her with a wet kipper?

No double standards. No casual acceptance of violence. Just human nature and a sense of irony!

Or maybe he is so constantly irritating someone else already slapped him round the head and in the knackers?
@MrsBertBibby I know (hope) you're kidding/being light hearted, but imagine if a man came on here, and said 'should I slap this gobby, outspoken WOMAN who won't stop talking on the phone next to me...?!'

There definitely wouldn't be three quarters of posters voting for 'YANBU...'

YABU obviously, and the double standards on mumsnet are breathtaking as usual.......
I got so bored reading this that I feared for my will to live.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 12/05/2021 09:17

OP - can I add to your list the moron who said ‘like’ 17 times in one very loud three-minute conversation yesterday (and yes, I did actually count), the woman who squashed up against me having decided that , because her arse needed three seats, mine should be one of them, and anyone who’s ever played a guitar on public transport.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 12/05/2021 09:24

I REALLY need a new keyboard! I can't see half the letters any more and my last post shows it, very clearly!

CloudPop · 12/05/2021 09:35

Does NOBODY care about Hugo?

MrsBertBibby · 12/05/2021 09:44

I got in one good glare right at him as I got off.

That'll learn him.

@UhtredRagnarson

If you don't mind being either punched in the face and/or being arrested

You enjoy that assault conviction

Morally you would be totally justified, legally you are on dodgy ground unfortunately.

I miss old MN when everyone would have responded with the humour so clearly intended by the OP.

Same! Can no one be sarcastic anymore?
MissScotland101 · 12/05/2021 10:21

I hate when people act like this on public transport, I cringe even having to answer my phone as I feel folks will be judging me, probably because I judge them for having private conversations Blush because if the call isn’t an emergency and it’s just a chit chat then I think surely it can be saved for texts or until you get off the train or bus.

You’re not being unreasonable wanting to slap him but if you do, then your being unreasonable!

Shmithecat2 · 12/05/2021 10:22

YANBU. At least you could represent yourself if you got arrested 😄

@LemonRoses I like your style and I would love to say something like this.

@AlmostSummer21 thank you for the laugh!

The trouble is, there are too few emotions. My go-to is the tongue in cheek one.

Can someone give Patti her breath back? Honestly, some posters can suck the (obvious) humour out of everything. Jesus.

Cue post about differences between men and women and how violence we against men is no joke in 3.....2......

Gone is the humour gone is a truly good debate. Genuine debate.

KizzyMoo · 12/05/2021 18:22

If you don't mind a punch to the jaw op 👍violence against anyone is not ok. My violent ex used to say I was annoying.

ViciousJackdaw · 12/05/2021 18:33

You should have got your own phone out, pretended to be making a call and then said, very loudly 'That you, Hugo? Listen pal, I've just heard you're dropped from the team this week. Yeah, I know, thinks he's Jurgen Klopp doesn't he? Jurgen Flopp more like!'
