Hi don't really know where to post but wanted to know if by chance anyone on here reads cards and would know what a 3 card combo might mean
Death - The Hangman - The Star
@Panpastels some people enjoy it so don’t knock it. I can’t stand X Factor but don’t judge people who enjoy it and I wouldn’t be anonymously nasty about them on an online forum
But the OP is looking for help from tarot on whether she should divorce. That may be because her husband is an abusive fucker or a cheat or a lazy man child. Regardless, there’s nothing fun or entertaining in the decision she’s trying to make.

I do like Mumoblue’a non-woo view on it, though.

And good luck OP. Try to speak to a good friend or somebody who knows you well to help you through this decision.

Big change coming and a definite closing of a door- but leading into something very positive. Probably something you know you needs to end. You know deep down it's the right thing to do, and your own "inner voice" is kind of saying to just let it happen. It's a step into the unknown but deep down you know it's the right thing. Period of readjustment coming which will kind of fall into place by the end of October. It's almost as if you're finally saying OK- this is what and who I am but the baggage has to go first. Once that's gone you'll be exploring your new feeling of mental lightness.
Did you only use major arcana?

BatmanBaby · 11/05/2021 13:33

If you are using tarot cards to try and make this decision, then I think that shows you your answer in itself (I've been there, looking for a sign that it's the right decision and ok to leave, which is 1000% was)

PlanDeRaccordement · 11/05/2021 13:38

All the readings given so far by posters assume the cards were not reversed. If any were reversed, the meaning changes completely.

AmadeustheAlpaca · 11/05/2021 13:45

@sal1223 Hope you are OK op.

tttttttttttttt · 11/05/2021 13:49

I haven't read through your thread and will guess that you will get doom and gloom answers telling tarot should be banished

I would say that these 3 cards mean
Death = Change or wanting change - could be anything but will be very different from the existing situation ,
Hanged man = unable to see a way forwards , stuck in a rut , unwilling to try , blind to new possibilities
Star = hope , faith , vulnerability , a guiding light / star , a possible way forwards , testing the water before trying something new

HTH

AmadeustheAlpaca · 11/05/2021 13:50

@sal1223 I find Tarot quite helpful but please don’t make any decisions based on a card reading.

adrianmolesmole · 11/05/2021 13:50

I dabble in tarot - death isn't necessarily bad - it means a change is coming into your life - the end of something and the start of something new. The hangman means a new life perspective or growth - the star is one of the most positive cards. So it's all good, not a bad outcome, though it may seem like it as you're going through it.

sal1223 · 11/05/2021 13:53

Thanks all - none were reversed I just picked 3 from major arcana and laid them out in order

@Finfintytint

Sweetheart, if you are worried about something, then seek proper support. Tarot is nonsense.
Tarot doesn't tell your future. It's just useful to sometimes ponder on the meanings of the card snd how they might offer reflection in your own life. They're more of a mediations tool really.
CandyLeBonBon · 11/05/2021 14:01

But yes, big change, something needs replacing but you're stuck in a rut and want to find a new path.

sasparilla1 · 11/05/2021 14:04

I also do tarot for friends and family.
Is this the order that you drew the cards in? And was the Death card upright?

BettyUnderswoob · 11/05/2021 14:04

They're more of a mediations tool really

This ^

And everything @Mumoblue said, too.

When you're in a tizz it's good to have something to help you think and explore an issue, and so come to a conclusion having considered it. Whatever aids this process is fine. Won't be the same for everyone.

Please don't allow some cards to influence your decision about a relationship in which you're being treated badly.
sal1223 · 11/05/2021 16:52

@sasparilla1 yes it is
@youvegottenminuteslynn I'm not I'm just having trouble understanding my own feelings

OP posts:
youvegottenminuteslynn · 11/05/2021 16:53

@sal1223

Sorry you're having a tough time, can you speak to a counsellor to work through your feelings? That could be a really productive way of understanding your feelings and deciding what action to take Thanks

sal1223 · 11/05/2021 16:55

I actually put the death card back - shuffled and got it again , same with the hangman so in actual order it would have been :-
Death - death - hangman - hangman - star
All upright - I was aiming to just pick 3
Just thought it was weird I got the same cards twice after rejecting them - and obviously not doing it properly 😊

OP posts:
sal1223 · 11/05/2021 16:56

@youvegottenminuteslynn yep spoken to 2 different ones , hasn't helped

Hawkmoth · 11/05/2021 17:00

You can let him go, but you're waiting for something or someone to give you a push. That may not come, and it's you who is wasting your time hoping the decision is taken out of your hands.

I note you didn't put the star back.

CombatBarbie · 11/05/2021 17:03

Well the fact you put them back in and they came back out is very telling in itself.

Like previous posters have said reading left to right is changes ahead.

Did you not a get a book with your cards, everyone who doesn't understand the cards do panic at death and hanged man but they are both quite positive cards.

What we're you actually thinking when you pulled the cards, was it about your relationship? The cards are not telling you what to do nor telling your future but rather trying to guide you on your emotions.

Cowbells · 11/05/2021 17:15

I used to study tarot - decades ago Iirc, both Death and the Hanged Man are very positive cards. They represent the death of aspects of your life that no longer serve you - in the case of the Hanged Man, a male person who is no longer a good influence in your life will depart from it or you will break contact. I can't remember what The Star means tbh, but I would guess that it is to do with a guiding light, a new direction. Does any of this make sense?

sal1223 · 11/05/2021 17:16

@Hawkmoth yeah I liked that one ! 🤣
@CombatBarbie no book , I dug these out from when I was a teen and couldn't find it - I have googled them so know what they mean , it's more the combinations I'm interested in . And yes thinking about my relationship and after everything why I can't let go - I've nothing to be scared of I'd be fine - it's out of character for me and goes against my inner voice

OP posts:
Cowbells · 11/05/2021 17:16

I've just seen your post about whether or not to divorce. I didn't see that before I posted my interpretation.

sal1223 · 11/05/2021 17:18

@Cowbells thank you . I've had 2 professional readings a month ago and death kept coming up , hangman there too so seeing them again doing it myself I'm intrigued
