Not an aibu, just no idea where to post.

I have a lovely ex boss who is a Muslim, we only worked together for a few months but we still keep in touch and I'd like to get him something as I believe Ramadan is coming to an end this week and I think this is the biggest celebration in Islam? I could be totally wrong, my knowledge of Islam comes from year 9 RE. He sent us a christmas card and a gift for our kids so I just want to repay his generosity.

I've obviously googled but can't find a guide or an explanation as to what is appropriate.

Can anyone suggest what to get him?

DH’s main concern is if somewhere would be using the same fryer for meat and non-meat products. If you go out for a pizza you know pork products will have been cooked there but he is still fine with the veggie options.

Chocolates and charity sound perfect.

Muslim friends / colleagues have just been pleased if I say / text Eid Mubarak. I'm no expert but it seems many Muslims are extra pleased when people who are not Muslim make allowances / remember them. I once had a taxi driver almost cry when I called him 'Haji'.

I also have a cheesecake recipe that has gone down well with lots of people, it certainly has not been binned it's been eaten in front of me and then taken home.
