Does anyone else think Boris is a gaslighter?

Marcydarcy7867 · 08/05/2021 21:51

Just that really. I’m shocked time and time again how he says things that are the opposite of the truth and spins things to suit him. It’s gaslighting of the nation.

OP posts:
fiheka · 08/05/2021 23:09

He lies constantly. Yes, he is our version of Trump.

echt · 08/05/2021 23:38

He's not gaslighter. However:

boris-johnson-lies.com

He lies as the goose shits, all the time and everywhere.

Sadieeloise5687 · 08/05/2021 23:49

So conservative voters are clear - if any one of those lies a pp has posted above were not lies Boris Johnston could sue (and win for liable/defamation can’t remember which). The fact this website exists and he has been able to shut it down with legal action is because they are all lies he actually said

blueangel19 · 09/05/2021 10:23

He lies constantly. Yes, he is our version of Trump.

This is what the left are trying to do here. Making Boris look like a version of Trump. However, it has totally backfired . People seems to be more rational here and focus on what is important. Boris is far from perfect but much better than what the opposition has offered so far.

LizzieW1969 · 09/05/2021 10:41

@blueangel19

I agree, it’s a complete exaggeration to say that Boris is just like Trump, who incited a political coup in an attempt to stay in power. He attempted to have Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi hanged ffs. He’s also continuing to suggest that Biden’s victory was the result of a fair election in November.

No, Boris isn’t as bad as that. Exaggerating won’t convince those who voted for Boris that they made a mistake. (Which is surely what we want to achieve ultimately?)

Quincie · 09/05/2021 14:54

I think all the Remainers are searching for another drum to bang.
All that anti Tory rhetoric and look where we are - V popular Tories.

I think people just make up their own minds for their own reasons. I certainly do

EdwinPootsLovesArchaeology · 09/05/2021 15:01

Maybe some Remainers, but not all by a long chalk.

MissyB1 · 09/05/2021 15:06

He is a pathological liar for sure. And a nasty fucker to boot. I totally believe the “let the bodies pile high” accusation.

And any man that will not admit to fathering a child..

Sadieeloise5687 · 09/05/2021 15:21

He definitely said let the bodies pile high. He said he didn’t in parliament so he’s lied to parliament. Surely that’s an offence?

BritWifeinUSA · 09/05/2021 15:23

I can think of much worse things. Tony Blair was so insistent that Iraq had WMD that could kill us within 45 minutes of being deployed. He presented this as fact and used it as a justification to invade Iraq and send British troops to their deaths or permanent disability. That’s the worst lie that’s been told by a politician in recent times.

With that in mind, I can’t get upset about Boris lying about why he suspended parliament.

ViciousJackdaw · 09/05/2021 15:29

Johnson ought to bathe in Vagisil because he's a massive cunt.

newnortherner111 · 09/05/2021 15:52

Mr Johnson is a liar. The worst Prime Minister ever. He cannot even be honest about how many children he has fathered.

RoseRedRoseBlue · 10/05/2021 00:59

@newnortherner111 agreed. He is a self-serving, egotistical liar who simply does not care about anyone but himself.

Hangingtrousers · 10/05/2021 01:02

Yes and people are falling for it. He spends his time swanning round visiting places and not answering questions... Who is running the country because it isn't him!?

adeleh · 10/05/2021 01:10

It’s not all politicians who lie and you let off the hook those who do with that kind of statement.

Johnson is appalling. He lies as naturally as breathing. He’s racist, faithless, fickle, and utterly offensive.

Of course he’s positive. He can say whatever he likes because he doesn’t care if he’s lying and because he refuses to take responsibility for any consequences.

Quincie · 10/05/2021 05:12

We have best covid vaccination programme in Europe, and most of the world - do you think that was a quirk or just chance? I'm sure that's why Tories are doing so well. Much of the population are overweight, have health conditions, all those people must be glad BJ is PM.

SavingsQuestions · 10/05/2021 05:32

Really quincie? I'd think the opposite. Its vulnerable groups he sent to their death with his handling of covid.

Quincie · 10/05/2021 05:38

Well only the live ones can vote , obviously

rabbitcow · 10/05/2021 05:46

The vaccine roll out is thanks to the scientists, NHS and the public servants working behind the scenes. Johnson should never ever be allowed to take the credit.
Quincie · 10/05/2021 05:51

So there were all these unemployed scientists sitting around doing nothing (no idea where their income came from) when this nasty flu started and they all got together and decided to save everyone (still no idea where their income comes from).

Really?????

rabbitcow · 10/05/2021 06:04

I don't understand what you mean? Who said anything about unemployed scientists? If you mean did the government throw money at the development of the vaccine and the roll out, well yes it did, but that money did not come out of their own pockets. It was tax payers money as well as money which we as tax payers will eventually repay.
Quincie · 10/05/2021 06:20

what I mean is someone has to make decisions - to employ and pay scientists, to employ statisticians, to order PPE, to have a lockdown, to arrange contracts with vaccine suppliers that meant we got the required stuff, to give investment to suppliers so they can up their supplies, to get the vaccine round the country, to plan ahead, to bring in the military.

This Gov and civil servants organised this it wouldn't have happened off it's own bat. BJ is the PM obviously he had a hand in this.

Of course it's tax payers money paying for it.

And it was proven he was told this by his advisors

No political decision is made in a vacuum for a reason Tony Blair has plausible deniability just like boris Johnson

Put simply they are a figurehead and he is a highly successful one

Theunamedcat · 10/05/2021 06:33

He's a common or gardener compulsive liar IMO.
