To throw a dart at the hot tub?

NDN's have hired a hot tub for the weekend (something they do semi regularly during the summer). It's only 10 past 7 on day 2 and I'm over it.

Considering an act of sabotage but in fairness the hot tub isn't the actual issue. It's the loud dance music and talking late into the night that is the actual issue.

Previous attempts to politely request a reduced noise level (after midnight) have been met with open hostility and ridicule.

CervixHaver

Tuxedo cat did nothing dramatic really just peered down at them with that unnerving stare cats have until they looked up, presumably saw his eyes and woman shrieked. They are horrible neighbours and it amuses me greatly when my cat uses the ugly fence they built to jump onto the roof and thunder across it.

They don’t have the hot tub anymore, perhaps cat punctured it, I’m glad as I was worried they wouldn’t cover it properly and he’d fall in. Neighbour told me ‘that would be no bad thing’ when I asked about cover.

Trick with music is to not have it constant: people quickly learn to drown the noise out, even easier when in an open space. Rather, the music is triggered by certain behaviour in sudden, extremely loud bursts. Deicide is a good option, especially when coupled with floodlights pointing at them. Can be every time their new song starts, or they do some other irregularly timed activity. Nothing should be predictable, because routine is a privilege they earn through good behaviour.

Spray fox urine or skunk oil into the hot tub as it’s heating up, and it’ll soon not seem like somewhere they want to be.

Forget the dart. Buy a fire pit and smoke them out earlier in the evening. If you burn some green wood eg branches of freshly cut pine, it will smoke like anything. You could add some split peas, they stink when you burn them.

Rammstein du hast alternated with baby shark. With some Gregorian chants chucked in every now and again.
My happiest memory of dealing with a loud music playing neighbour was when I lived in a flat. The electric was a bit trigger happy, if a bulb went in a lamp the main switch tripped. Apparently turning his stereo up did the same. Or it could have been that I could reach the trip switch for his flat from the bottom step next to the shared front door.......

Ideally if you can get close enough some clothing dye like Dtyon and a load of washing up liquid to create a foam top so they can not see the water , that dye colours you skin for ages !

Sillawithans · 09/05/2021 02:36

I wouldn't be bothered by this at all.

Yes stab the sex pond.

@cafenoirbiscuit

DH suggests you throw a condom filled with egg white into it 🤮
Great idea, or filled with tomato ketchup.

Assuming they are keeping it running and hot all hours if they day, they will get a lovely high electric bill. Im guessing they are not rich.

@Mylittlesandwich

These are great ideas and pre DS I possibly would have. DH has a fine heavy metal collection. 17 month old DS would be less impressed I feel.
Just get the baby some noise muffling headphones and let the music out.

Yes I second starting a fire. The guidelines are fires either early morning or evenings. Do a fire in the evening just as they crank it all up.
