To throw a dart at the hot tub?

Mylittlesandwich · 08/05/2021 19:09

NDN's have hired a hot tub for the weekend (something they do semi regularly during the summer). It's only 10 past 7 on day 2 and I'm over it.

Considering an act of sabotage but in fairness the hot tub isn't the actual issue. It's the loud dance music and talking late into the night that is the actual issue.

Previous attempts to politely request a reduced noise level (after midnight) have been met with open hostility and ridicule.

Maybe some suitably thorny plant - pyracantha perhaps - would do the trick less noticeably?

Viviennemary · 08/05/2021 19:57

Inconsiderate monsters

Thisgirlcando · 08/05/2021 19:58

Put chicken shit fertiliser on your grass! DP did it to ours last year and we couldn’t go out the back door or open the windows for a week because of the smell - it looked lovely after though!

@Mylittlesandwich

Call the police and the council

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 08/05/2021 20:00

A dart?

No, think bigger. Daryl in The Walking Dead with the crossbow big.

MusicWithRocksIn1t · 08/05/2021 20:01

Chuck one of those disgusting stonking nappies what you basically need a haz mat suit on to change into it the night before.
The world's most disgusting bath bomb

Mylittlesandwich · 08/05/2021 20:01

I've called the police non emergency in the past but I don't know if they came out. The noise stopped a couple of hours later but that may well have been a coincidence. It was never mentioned.

Manure delivery. Right next to the fence.

RoobyMyrtle · 08/05/2021 20:04

Put one of those electronic cat deterrents as near their house as you can get it. You can't hear it but it gives everyone a headache.

JellyBabiesFan · 08/05/2021 20:06

Nah they will probably suspect you and it will end up in even more hassle for criminal damage. Can you lob some dishwasher tablets in though?

JellyBabiesFan · 08/05/2021 20:09

Oooh bonfire is a brilliant idea. Try and find some wood that burns with lots of smoke.

Mylittlesandwich · 08/05/2021 20:15

I'd never do anything antisocial myself (at least not on purpose) I have neighbours on the other side that I like lol.

Piss in it.

ExhaustedFlamingo · 08/05/2021 20:21

I accidentally - and I do mean accidentally - blasted my very, very loud neighbour's shrieky garden party with the song "Cunts are running the world" - at top volume.

I didn't notice until the song was nearly over. It wasn't deliberate but I'm not sorry.

Foobydoo · 08/05/2021 20:21

As it's a temporary hire no, that would be so mean. A permanent fixture yes absolutely!

Hollyhobbi · 08/05/2021 20:21

I really like the Baby Shark suggestion, your wee DS would love it too but for your own mental health and the nice neighbours too, I wouldnt play it on a loop. Unless you and the nice neighbours were out for a couple of hoursGrin.

GameSetMatch · 08/05/2021 20:23

Let off some stink bombs in your garden!

the80sweregreat · 08/05/2021 20:30

Please don't!
I know they are annoying but your NDN might do something worse to you !
I used to think I'd like one, but reading threads about how annoying they are for others has put me off ( plus I haven't the space for one anyway )

The hot tub itself isn't an issue. We had one at a rural holiday cottage pre DS and it was lovely. Watching the starts with a drink in hand. It's the loud music and now shrieking that accompanies it that's the issue. I'm fairly confident most people could have a hot tub without causing such a ruckus.

Definitely the cat shit. Obviously very late at night. Can you lob it in from one of your upstairs windows? No proof that it wasn't a cat that did it. So 🤢🤢🤢 hopefully no amount of cleaning/disinfecting will be enough for them to want to get back in it again.

thenightsky · 08/05/2021 20:39

Can we swap neighbours. I'd love ones with a hot tub. I'd be in there with them!

As someone who has neighbours with a hot tub, I'd like to thank you @the80sweregreat for being so considerate. It's a nightmare. Your neighbours are lucky to have someone like you living near them.

You're welcome to them but I don't get the impression they'd be up for sharing.
