Whenever someone says they/someone they know is stunning, all i ever want to ask is what do they look like.

Not because i doubt them, not at all, i just really want to know what does a stunning woman look like TO THEM.

@SwedishK

When I think of stunning women, there are definitely similarities between them. They are all brunettes, they all have a strong nose and cheek bones and soft lips. I really like Helena Christensen, Stephanie Seymore, Linda Evangelista, Ingrid Bergman and her daughter Isabella Rossellini for example.

Blondes tend to be more cute than stunning in my opinion, but there are exceptions I'm sure.

Karen Mulder (90s model) is one of the few blondes I found to be truly stunning.

I wonder what men would answer to this question

We've had this conversation around the dinner table with friends a few years ago. These were the answers from the three men there.

Gail Porter.
Jennifer Garner
Sandra Bullock

Mila Kunis
Natalie Portman
Natalia Vodianova in the Maxx Royal hotel ad. She is older than me and looks about a million times better than me.
Gemma Arterton
They all look naturally stunning. No absurd face modifications.

rarzy · 07/05/2021 23:19

I used to love Karen Mulder, supermodels were so much better in the 90s!!

FloconDeNeige · 07/05/2021 23:20

I don’t think hair colour has any bearing on it, to be honest; there are stunning women of all hair colours!

adrianmolesmole · 07/05/2021 23:21

I would also add

Ziyi Zhang
Natasha Khan
Audrey Tatou

All amazing artists and they seem to have beautiful souls as well.

Bubbletime123 · 07/05/2021 23:24

Angela Bassett what a stunner especially for her age

Hopeishere52 · 07/05/2021 23:24

Mae Martin

This is an interesting thread! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! The classical beauties in my eyes (and I'm nearly 60)..
Marilyn Monroe
Ingrid Bergman
Maureen O'Hara ( I am a red head too, so I have always admired her)
Elizabeth Taylor
Julia Roberts
Beyonce (just f**kin perfection)
Nigella Lawson (classical beauty)
Julie Andrews
Grace Kelly, Princess Grace of Monaco
Our own Kate Middleton

Sorry, do not agree with Katie Price! Pretty girl who has ruined her natural looks with cosmetics.
Plus, I think beauty is that of a classical nature, pure, simple, breath-taking, natural, kindness, huge aura ..etc.. not someone with cosmetic enhancements and a 'takers' attitude'.

Beauty is a natural aura...

@Norabatty40

Angelina jolie.. i find her face mesmerisingly beautiful is that weird
I have a good friend who is astonishingly beautiful and very much in the style of Angelina Jolie. She is 60 now. Dresses for comfort and never wears make up and is very unconcerned about her looks. but when we go for lunch or dinner together I see younger men checking her out all the time.
pinkmagnolias · 07/05/2021 23:28

I think hair colour is important. E.g. Julia Roberts hair is naturally dark blonde and is dyed red. Nicole Kidman is naturally red and varies between strawberry blonde, red and very fair. They both look more even more stunning with red hair.

I don't think any one hair colour is the link to the description 'stunning' woman. There are far more people with brown hair so there is an increased likelihood of brunettes being the 'shared' colour' of 'beauties'. There are just fewer adults with naturally blond hair and fewer again with red hair.

AMillionMilesAway · 07/05/2021 23:31

Obviously it's all subjective but am example of someone I think is stunning, I would say princess Ameerah of Saudi Arabia (although I'd like to see her without any make up on!)

pinkmagnolias · 07/05/2021 23:31

Nigella Lawson (classical beauty)

Yes she is definitely a very beautiful woman.

She has an incredible smile too.

Maybe the smile is the link for the most beautiful of all........?

ZednotZee · 07/05/2021 23:32

I actually find her rather beautiful. Completely unrecognisable of course...

About 20 years ago I saw Jerry Hall in Waterstones in Richmond. I'd never rated her before but in the flesh she was amazing. No noticeable make-up but her cheekbones and graceful walk really were something out of the ordinary.

ForwardRanger · 07/05/2021 23:39

@Echobelly

One of the most beautiful women I ever met was a young woman I met up with who writing an article for the publication I edit. She was a fairly archetypal idea of 'stunning' - huge green eyes, snub nose, pouty lips, lovely skin, long blonde hair. I found it quite hard to look at her she was so insanely beautiful! There's something almost unreal about the best looking people (male or female) that I've met.
Was her name Louise?
thebabessavedme · 07/05/2021 23:42

I was watching bbc4 earlier and was just amazed at Emmylou Harris, she has what I would describe as luminous beauty - I wonder if she has had much work done?, so far as I could see she is just a natural beauty, of course I may be very slow on the uptake and she is full of botox and fillers?

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 07/05/2021 23:43

Christie Turlington was far and away my favourite 90s supermodel and I think she still looks gorgeous now.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 07/05/2021 23:44

Helena Bonham Carter often takes my breath away. She just has a look.

Tilda Swinton, especially in Constantine.

ForwardRanger · 07/05/2021 23:46

All the aforementioned women of course, and so many more.

For me it's when they are a little quirky. Like Kristen Stewart.

howsicklyarsekissy · 07/05/2021 23:47

The thing is all the women you have listed above are stunning. But in real life are absolutely mind blowing! The average news presenter I met who I saw on tv & thought was attractive was absolutely stunning. Every single famous women I have met in real life is totally 100 times better looking than on tv/movies or pictures. It's why they are famous in the first place.

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 07/05/2021 23:54

Oh and definitely Grace Jones

She isn't just stunning she's iconic
