AF is due in the next few days, and I've been absolutely STARVING. Nothing can satisfy my appetite and I can't feel full no matter what I eat.

I've noticed this happening over the last few months and wonder if it's related. Is this common?

@BeachyPeaches

And me! Also red meat! Any other time of the month I’m happy enough without it, prefer chicken. But the week before, well it’s all of the cow! Once AF arrives I’m back to normal, but the damage is done 🤣

I thought it was only me that craved red meat!

I also want chocolate, even though I can absolutely take it or leave it the rest of the month.

HoboSexualOnslow · 01/05/2021 20:48

Yes, it's at least three days for me. I think it's also because I feel so tired for the week before..it's getting worse in my late thirties

gingganggooleywotsit · 01/05/2021 21:26

Yes always been like that! I crave anything salty and sugary and constant carbs for about a week before 😬

itsgettingwierd · 01/05/2021 21:30

Me.

I've noticed it more since lockdown and more and more the past 18 months as my period has got worse and worse (adenomyosis).

I crave cheese and crackers. It's probably the only time I ever eat crisps (luckily my new favourites are Aldi veggie puffs that taste like monster munch!)

I also get bloated and constipated and about day 5 I start my period poo

My periods last 14 days on a 25-32 day cycle. My eating and stomach size are all over the place but if I don't get the food I need I'd probably be up on a murder charge so I'm just going with it atm Grin

CaveMum · 01/05/2021 21:31

The red meat cravings might be iron level related - I’m a big believer that your body craves what it needs, when I was pregnant I craved cheese, which I think was my body’s way of saying I needed more calcium.

itsgettingwierd · 01/05/2021 21:31

Oh and yes to sweet too! By day 5-6 I'm eating a bad of hair o a day for 2-3 days! It's the only time I eat sweets and biscuits and cakes.

SunsetBeetch · 01/05/2021 21:35

Yep, it's amazing what I can put away on those days.

QueenPaw · 01/05/2021 21:36

@CaveMum definitely. I don't eat much red meat and every so often I get a craving for a medium cooked posh burger, has to be medium and not well done Grin
I swear it's when my iron is low because it's such a specific craving (I don't eat steak so never crave that!)

Anon778833 · 01/05/2021 21:37

Same thing here too!

Fespital · 01/05/2021 21:39

Yes absolutely! I have to be so good for 3 weeks because those few days cancel it all out!

saffysue · 01/05/2021 21:40

Yes, me too. I feel insatiable and worry I'll never not be hungry again. No matter how many times it happens I always think this is it for me now, I am a hungry person.

I'm such a cliche too, it's always chocolate. I can take it or leave it any other time but gorge on chocolate every month just before my period.

feliznavidad2 · 01/05/2021 21:40

Currently eating some cheese and crackers as got a bad case of the insatiables today infact.

saffysue · 01/05/2021 21:42

My phone auto-added the word 'spirit' there Blush

GalaxyGirl24 · 01/05/2021 21:44

Yes! I literally eat non stop and it's quite out of control at times

Wineisrequired · 01/05/2021 21:44

Same here I’ve just had to do a quick dash to the garage to get some chocolate 🤣

Chasingsquirrels · 01/05/2021 21:48

Yep

miliie55 · 01/05/2021 21:48

No I never noticed any difference in appetite. What I usually notice is a headache starting and then I think yeah I'm due on. I get quite bad headaches when I get mine 🙁

eurochick · 01/05/2021 21:49

Yep. I refer to them as my Pac-Man days. I move around munching everything in my path.

Grin love this and such a true image!
Pricklykaktus · 01/05/2021 22:15

Yes anything sugary, mainly doughnuts and chocolate biscuits. Then a few days in absolutely no appetite at all. As I get older my cycle is so much more of a rollercoaster.

Pics · 01/05/2021 22:17

Chocolate. Most of the time i really don't bother at all with chocolate . I never really know when my period is due, then it arrives and i go, "OOHHH! That's why i ate that enormous bar of chocolate!" I am constantly amazed that i haven't learnt in 30 years ....

Katjolo · 01/05/2021 22:18

Yep! Sugar!

Numnumcookie · 01/05/2021 22:19

Yep. Lots of carbs, even if full will still crave more.
