It doesn’t look shit but it looks like it needs a cut, colour and a good condition, sorry op.

YellowTwinklyStar · 22/04/2021 09:03

@DumplingsAndStew

It looks fine but I don't think the (pink) foundation is right for your skin tone Grin
Did you mean to be so rude? OP asked about her hair not her skin.
Sparklingbrook · 22/04/2021 09:05

I think they were joking about the pink squiggles to disguise identity @YellowTwinklyStar.

nellly · 22/04/2021 09:06

@YellowTwinklyStar pretty sure pp was making a joke about the pink colouring used to obscure her face for privacy Grin

Op your hair doesn't look shit but like most of us post lockdown would look better with a trim. Hope no one told you it looked shit

Cocomarine · 22/04/2021 09:07

@YellowTwinklyStar look up - you’ll see something going right over your head 🤣

DinosaurDiana · 22/04/2021 09:07

You need a cut. It would make the ends look thicker and healthier.

Plexmex · 22/04/2021 09:12

I’d take an inch or 2 off the ends, get a colour and a deep condition and it’ll be lovely OP. Doesn’t look shit at all, looks like the majority’s hair IMO. I definitely wouldn’t go getting it all lopped off, but I would definitely get a trim to thicken/ blunt the ends up.

SaturdayRocks · 22/04/2021 09:17

Oh my goodness 😂🤣

listershologram · 22/04/2021 09:18

It needs a good wash, condition and a trim, you can do that yourself if you look on you tube as their are videos for trimming long hair. I need to do mine today.

CirclesWithinCircles · 22/04/2021 09:18

Why are the British so obsessed with "collar length hair", bobs and layers? They're all so ageing and old fashioned. Like most people, since hairdressers have been closed, you could do with a trim. If you used straighteners, it would look more sleek. Otherwise, your hair is fine, unless peculiarly obsessed with said short hairstyles as some sort of gold standard.

CattingTime · 22/04/2021 09:18

I think it's lovely, just needs a trim.

what would you suggest as a less ageing/old fashioned option? a blunt collar length cut with a centre parting is very different from a layered, graduated bob, and i'd argue that only the latter is an old fashioned, ageing look.
IPeedInThePool · 22/04/2021 09:27

I was just feeling a bit shirty about my hair I cut and colour it myself the good old "mumsnet" haircut ....I haven't chopped it in agesssss though need some new hair Sissors.

Obsessed? Confused How do you know who is British on here?
DumplingsAndStew · 22/04/2021 09:31

@YellowTwinklyStar

U OK hun?

CirclesWithinCircles · 22/04/2021 09:34

SparklingBrook I have no idea who is British on here but I live in Britain and see the ageing short bob/pudding bowl style everywhere, and the first page is full of posters advocating a short cut on this British based site.

Can I just say that unless you have very petite features, particularly a small pert nose, short hairstyles are often ageing, as what you need to do is elongate the face. A centre parting also helps. I dont see much wrong with the OP's hair style tbh although the side parting is a little strange. But maybe thars what works for the OP.

DianaT1969 · 22/04/2021 09:38

Book a professional cut. It needs a few inches off.

I thought the usual thing was that long hair is aging and it should all be cut off. You can't win, clearly.
ineedaholidayandwine · 22/04/2021 09:44

Agree a good cut and maybe a conditioning treatment, hair mask or similar. Olaplex 6 is good as you apply after washing and leave in

Horehound · 22/04/2021 09:44

Yep needs a cut and colour

crosspelican · 22/04/2021 09:46

The layers have grown too long so it looks straggly, that's all. Chop maybe 4 inches off, and let it grow back at one length. If you don't want to go to the hairdresser right now, which is fair enough, buy some good scissors on Amazon and check out one of the many amazing tutorials on Youtube for doing it yourself.

DangerNature · 22/04/2021 09:46

Just needs a good cut and maybe a colour if you’re trying to get rid of that blonde by growing it out as that makes it look a bit untidy too. Not shit though

Ughmaybenot · 22/04/2021 09:50

It needs a good several inches lopped off, as it’s looking a little thin at the ends, get it all one length, and a really decent deep conditioning treatment but that’s like the vast majority of us right now! It certainly doesn’t look shit.

TheThingsWeAdmitOnMN · 22/04/2021 09:50

It just looks a bit dry & like the ends need trimming. Other than that it looks lovely & thick & healthy. Enjoy it without stress while you can. Mine is getting very thin now 😢

My hairdresser hates taking any length off mine, ever, but even she is going to want to give it a good chop. I can sit on the middle of it, but the edges haven't kept up! However no one really sees it at the moment so I left the appointments for those who were desperate!

CirclesWithinCircles · 22/04/2021 09:50

SoarklibgBrook thats why it's old fashioned. Long hair probably was ageing for anyone over 30 in the days before modern styling products and tools. But we have a lot more products available to us than our grandmothers, so we don't really need the same hairstyles as them.

As for those strange punky bobs, with one side shaved and the other a thin curtain of hair, seriously, what's going on there? Does this style even exist outside the UK?
