Exactly. And works both ways. Drivers can't accept trips if their average rating over x trips drops below certain points afaik. Similar for customera, but there there is bigger leniency from what I read. I think it's 4.something for drivers and 3 for customers?

It's you that sounds dodgy! My Dad was a taxi driver and he was always chatty & friendly. Nothing dodgy about him

I don't take cabs to have chit chats though. I also like to be able to make phone calls with a driver who pretends he can't hear me.

It's not too much to ask. I don't pester the driver with inane questions or boring small talk.
