here

or over-reacting?

it is aimed at adults but who would wear this?

OP posts:
Jaquelinehyde · 11/11/2007 23:21

It's a very common term in america for this style top

LadyOfTheFlowers · 11/11/2007 23:24

Emo's wear them usually.

Along with 'Im so goth I punched a Carebear'
WTF?!

And 'It's a goth thing'. They wouldn't know goth if one creeped up and bit them in the ass.

Just makes peeps look stupid if you ask me and I do outwardly laugh if I see such slogans. The same as I ask kids to pull their jeans up as I don't wish to see their pants.

DeathBySnooSnoo · 11/11/2007 23:26

i have told my 9 year old dd that playboy is a porno and she thinks its disgusting and wouldnt want any of that stuff.she also knows she isnt allowed any bratz stuff as they are encouraging young girls to dress as prostitutes

themoon66 · 11/11/2007 23:28

kindersurprise · 11/11/2007 23:38

That one saying "I am too pretty to do math"
is just asking for a response
e.g.
I don't think so dear.

MrsTittleMouse · 12/11/2007 07:58

It's not just Mums with DS, I have a DD and I still feel very uncomfortable about it. DH and I were out for a lovely walk in the countryside last week and we bumped into a woman with a tee-shirt that had "boy girl boy girl" written on it; above the "girl" was a picture of a girl, above the "boy" was a picture of a pig. It really made me squirm, what if the "girl" had a picture of a dog above it?

Flame · 12/11/2007 08:03

Not really relevant, but I liked this and this

lionheart · 12/11/2007 08:08

Those are funny but all the others are just nasty.

lionheart · 12/11/2007 08:09

lol at bubblerock overdoing the mumsnetting.

Tortington · 12/11/2007 08:09

jesus get over yourselves - am al for political correctness - and some of the examples given are crass - but is so very mumsnet to jump on this bandwagon

Flame · 12/11/2007 08:20

As a 17 year old I would have happily worn the boys one, and it wouldn't bother me if DD does when she hits that age. I have a son too, so I am not just seeing it from a girl pov.

I can picture the friend Charlie I had at that age wearing them too - and he was a boy! (Well, still it presumably...)

Flame · 12/11/2007 08:21

it is

mustrunmore · 12/11/2007 08:32

Flame, you spooky bird, I love the rock/rule one! Er, if it was a v neck and flattering to a huge tummy

TBH, I cant even face commenting on the other ones; its one of those cans of worms that'll never be agreed on.

Lazarou · 12/11/2007 08:35

How about 'pobodys nerfect' and 'im not as think as you drunk i am'

Those t-shirts make me cringe, and they are soooo '95

Flame · 12/11/2007 08:35

If you ever fancy a trip to covent garden, and happen to see it in a 12.... I'll give ya the money (I'll cut down through the neck, and take the sleeves off)

mustrunmore · 12/11/2007 08:37

Ok. I was there on Sat, you nutter! Er, I'll get one for me too, and you can sort it out for me

Flame · 12/11/2007 08:38

But I didn't know you were there on Sat what with your secrecy

seeker · 12/11/2007 08:41

Absolutely fine if adults want to wear crass and offensive slogans acros their chests - I think it's bizarre but there is much in the world that I don't get.Absolutely NOT fine for children - they can have no idea of the implications of the slogans and cannot be dscribed as "consenting" in the purchase and wearing. Ditto boob tubes, bare midriffs, padded bras, g strings, high heeled shoes.....I could go on!

Emprexia · 12/11/2007 11:18

Jeez, they're just t-shirts. Get over it.

Eliza2 · 12/11/2007 16:36

I wouldn't buy one. Yuck.

It's as though there are two career choices to aspire to: tart (ref. the Playboy thread on MN) or yob.

emzzzzz · 12/11/2007 16:41

I really don't agree with rude slogans on kids clothes. They don't even understand it really.
My DS has one which says "boys are better than girls" but to me that's harmless.

I saw some knickers in Primark for girls aged 7 and over. On the front it said "come in if you think you're hard enough" WTF

brightwell · 12/11/2007 17:07

My ex gave dd who was 10, a t shirt with the slogan " I'm a natural blonde, talk slowly to me", she is blonde and is dyslexic...he couldn't see the harm in it....sadly it "shrunk" in the wash!!!!
