Don't like it - can you imagine the outrage if there was a t-shirt telling men to throw rocks at women? HATE all this anti boy sentiment, even as a 'joke'

Saturn74 · 11/11/2007 21:28

was just going to post exactly what tmmj has put.

these t-shirts are horrible.

but someone will be along to defend them in a minute, and tell us we are over-reacting.

colditz · 11/11/2007 21:31

They are horrible. People who defend them don't have sons who say "Am I stupid mummy? I am a boy! I don't want to be stupid! I don't want to be a boy now Mummy, I want to be a mummy like you then I won't be a stupid boy!"

He asked some 9 year old in the park what her teeshirt said.

My reply?

"Boys are very clever. She has a stupid teeshirt on because some mummies don't care enough about what their children wear. Just because it's writing doesn't make it true, if I wrote down that you are three, would it be true? No, you are still four."

DeathBySnooSnoo · 11/11/2007 21:32

i agree, they are awful.i am sure i have seen them in 'teen' ranges as well

but its ok,females being violent to males is perfectly acceptable

colditz · 11/11/2007 21:32

Love the name.

blossomsmine · 11/11/2007 22:33

My seventeen year old daughter has one, she bought it in Covent Garden, David and Golaith range. She likes it, thinks it is funny. I do see where you are coming from in a way......She has a brother, who is definately not stupid and doesn't care at all that she wears that tshirt as he sees it for what it is...just a stupid t shirt.

seeker · 11/11/2007 22:37

I have seen this t shirt for 8 year olds. I tis completly outrageous. Ditto playboy cloths and track suit trousers with NAUGHTY written across the bottom for 10 year old girls. Don't get me started - I may never shut up!

melpomene · 11/11/2007 22:46

This is in their kids' range, and here's another wonderful slogan.

bubblerock · 11/11/2007 22:46

DS1's teacher was wearing one with 'boys are stupid' on, this was out of school but I still didn't like it.

Boys are a bit smelly though

PeachesMcLean · 11/11/2007 22:49

at Bubblerock.

We bump into DS's teachers around and about. I'd hate him to read that.

PeachesMcLean · 11/11/2007 22:50

xposts. Shocked at bubblerock's DC's teacher's tshirt

MeMySonAndI · 11/11/2007 22:53

I would have a word with someone about that Bubblerock, if she can wear such rubish thought so openly being a teacher, I can't imagine the bad effect she may be having in her male pupils.

hunkermunker · 11/11/2007 22:55

This is the kind of thing that if I only had girls, I'd think people with boys were overreacting.

I might even be a bit superior. And giggle down my nose.

But since I have two boys, I won't do that. I'll get outraged instead.

bubblerock · 11/11/2007 22:55

I was a bit miffed but thought maybe I'd been overdoing the Mumsnetting so didn't say anything.

kslatts · 11/11/2007 23:00

I hate these t-shirts, it seems they are everywhere at the moment, I took my dd's to tesco's at the weekend and it seems most of the tops were slogan ones.

I have heard of that term used to describe a sleeveless t-shirt before. Not saying that it is ok, just that the company have not invented it.

Horrible t-shirts. Who would buy the maths one for their DD???

Would not be happy about the teacher, not a good role model.
