Looking for summer shoes for DD online this morning and came across these pics which made me feel uncomfortable. Like an attempt at doing high fashion photography for kids clothes. The poses feel inappropriate for kids this young. Also the sandals are fugly but that’s an aside.

@4PawsGood

All three are a bit crotch focussed to my eye.

Glad I'm not the only one who felt that.

I think they’re not too bad, they’re not trying to pose in a sexy way or pout, or look up with big doe eyes. I am uncomfortable about things like modesty shorts and I don’t like little girls wearing bikini tops. I would say the river island “sexy” crop top and one hip out look is more inappropriate. Don’t forget that Zara is a Spanish company and it isn’t unusual to see children naked on the beach in Spain, and the retro Spanish 1950s style look (nothing like Zara) is very very short dresses for young girls (and short shorts for boys).

@skirk64

No those pictures are completely inappropriate. I do wonder about the parents who let their kids pose for images like those, they are basically fodder for paedophile groups on the dark web.

I suspect these might be a bit on the tame side for dark web users! They look fine to me.

It seems to be just about central to each shot, so does draw the eye there imo.

I don't like the one on the moped (as PP says, it's quite an adult pose), but I think the others are ok.

They are a bit inappropriate living in a world with paedophilia not necessarily to the normal eye. You can see right up the skirt, the gym suit on the bed was unnecessary too. Perception is in the eye of the beholder.
I'm fed up with the designer's of preteen clothes all the girls shorts are either super short or skin tight, DD doesn't like either again if the world was innocent it would be different.
RI - H&M - Newlook youth - even sports shops are scare on girls joggers all gym tights.

I imagine that it's Mum or Dad who took the pictures themselves, and that she's posing in her actual bedroom in the 2nd one. Proper modelling shoots have all been very difficult during lockdown, at least in the UK. I've noticed pics looking very much 'at home' this year.

to my eye as well.

My work means that I have the misfortune to be professionally involved with children sexual predators so I might be more highly attuned., but these pics make me uncomfortable.

*sexual predators who are paedophiles. I meant. [rolls eyes at myself]

I can't explain myself today (serious lack of sleep)

I’m just curious why you then share them here and increase the traffic

If you feel they are inappropriate surely you report , rather than widen the web hits no ?

They look fine to me, I've tried to take on board some of the comments and looked again but still look fine. Modelling shots are always a bit odd, Hush had some where adult models were wearing long tiered skirts in situations where my health and Safety head kept distracting me.

I kind of see what you mean but sadly if someone has paedophilic tendencies, they’d be looking at fat worse photos than those.

The first and third for me are cutting close to the mark. I want to look at them as innocent holiday snaps and if taken by someone on holiday, that's all they would be, but they aren't holiday snaps. They are posed models to put on a website selling shoes.
And I do not think are appropriate given this fact.

They look like normal photos of children wearing clothes to me but then I dont view children sexually so dont find them 'sexy' or 'innapropriate', if you look and see something 'inappropriate' I think it says more about you than the photo.

What is it that is inappropriate about these?
Are little girls not allowed their legs out in summer anymore?

As others have said they seem rather crotch focused. It’s just absolutely unnecessary.
We all have photos like that from our own Dds, taken quickly with no thought, but there’s no need for them to be posed, sanctioned by the editors and then put on a website.

I agree with you. There's no reason for legs to be bare and akimbo! Or figure hugging tights.

The 1st and 3rd don't look appropriate to me.

The first they are looking up her skirt or focusing on at illusion, the third is like an adult shot on a moped. Taking the road safety out of it, who would were that coat with a swimsuit?

A towel and sunbed would be more appropriate.

Totally agree with this.
I don't think they are suitable at all.

I have similar pictures from when I was a kid and I'm 60 y.o.

Frankly this mentality of covering kids in summer is beginning to remind me/having tinges of muslim/ultraorthodox religions.

So bloody glad to have grown in Spain where kids and adults can dress the fuck they want.

I agree with you, OP. I also agree that anyone going through my mum's photo albums in the 70s would see photos of my sister and cousins dressed like this with our knickers on display.

Even though they look like 70s snapshots, we live in a post-Saville world where we all know the extent and effect of sexual abuse and the kick that paedophiles will get out of these pix — and that's why those photos resonate so unpleasantly. I'm sure they've been designed to be edgy and controversial.

I know that little girls sit with their legs sprawled and their knickers on display. I know that little girls are wonderfully unselfconscious about spreading their legs in provocative porny poses, like the one in the blue leggings against the bed with the tousled blonde hair. But in real life they aren't being observed by possibly thousands of pervy men.

It makes me very sad that an innocent picture of a little girl with her legs apart should set alarm bells ringing in this way. But the art director and photographer will know that these photos have a lot of tension and edginess about them and that these will give a thrill to men who have a sexual interest in little girls. I don't know what we do, but I don't think we should pretend we don't see it.

BTW, Zara is an Spanish brand, if you don't like their clothes switch to a more conservative ones according to your taste.

If 1 was a photo of you as a child would you put it on FB, or would you be questioning Dads photography skills.
