To want to faint in McDonalds?

DH has slowly introduced a regime of positive reinforcement that, for a wide range of reasons, means I have to take the DC to McDonalds once a month for a sit down meal. This produces a physical response in me that makes me want to, first, gag and then faint. I assume it must be the vaporised oil in the air, the terrible food odours and weird and discoloured plastic decor (and the hyperactive and frankly unappealing toddlers screaming around whenever we go?). Whatever it is, it triggers a really intense response from me and I basically dread these scheduled outings and have to choke back vomiting for the whole meal.

Unfortunately the DC have become really emotionally invested in these going to MacDonalds (to what I think is a really unhealthy level) and DH's schedule means that I am unquestionably the only one who can take then. How do I extricate myself from going to McDonalds? Has anyone else weaned their DC from depending fast food? They genuinely love it, especially the earth-killing toys they abandon minutes after leaving

Take them for fish and chips or charcoal chicken instead? Or Oporto? I so miss Oporto!

Well, luckily for me, we're still not going there so I won't have those inflicted on me either! I know they're technically recyclable, but not according to DS2 (who has a terrible hoarding habit)

Why are you doing what your DH tells you to do? If he wants to take them to McDonalds, he can; if you don't, don't.

I mean, your reaction is massively over the top, but that's not the issue here - The fact that your DH seems to think he gets to tell you what to do even when you don't want to do it and that's okay is the problem.

Are you autistic or something? (I'm not trolling, I am myself and certain smells make me feel sick, I could never go into Lush because of it, though I like the smell of Maccy D's.)

I could smash a Mcd's right now. Big Mac meal, nuggets on the side, apple pie for dessert...... I love the smell of a McDonald's.

Well, having once contracted salmonella from a McDonalds the thought of ever eating one again does make me feel faint, but even I can go into one without swooning op.

Theyve changed happy meal toys from plastic to card and paper and theres no sit down... so where the flip have you been taking your kids?
