Handing in my notice on Tuesday...

I've recently got a new job, it's an amazing opportunity in the NHS and I cannot wait to start there, they are also very keen for me to start ASAP and pushed through my pre employment checks and I got an unconditional offer 3 days after receiving the conditional offer...
I'm planning to hand in my notice to my boss on Tuesday... But honestly.. I'm sick to my stomach at the thought of it.. I posted in the work forum and got some good advice..
My boss makes me feel exactly like my ex did... Crushed... No voice.. Just accepting of her sh*t. She talks to me like utter crap, makes me feel thick and is also just a complete bully.. She's had form for doing this to other employees. I had some loyalty too her as she took me on part time after maternity leave after my previous employer couldn't.. But God, every week since its just been a gradual decline in shattering my self confidence.
How can I get over this irrational fear of telling her I'm resigning and also I've found another job... She's going to make my last 4 weeks complete hell 😭😭😭

Hi all. :) yes it went OK.. She was very disappointed and said I should've spoken to her earlier about how I felt but agreed it was the right thing to do because my role has grown so much and its a lot for one person to do.. She said she will split my role into two..
All in all it went OK..
Looking forward to starting the new role, just hope it goes OK... X

So glad you've escaped, and the best of luck in the NHS! (Overall it's definitely been one of the better, and fairer, employers I've worked for, plus as the biggest single employer in the UK you have access to great training [just don't let the never-ending induction week put you off! It gets better, honest!]).

Did have to grin at your boss's comment about how she'll now split your role in two though - the most extreme I came across was where a friend of mine left their job and their job was then split between four people at higher grades plus admin staff to support them. And the organisation gave my friend a hard time when they were in the job and kept telling them they were useless at it...!

Onwards and upwards for you - all the best!

Thank you. :) when she said about splitting my role in too I felt insulted that I'd worked my fingers to the bone on my measly part time wage! But also glad as I don't want the next person/people to drown in the workload.
Yes, I've received all my induction training.. Looks very intense.
Suppose I'm feeling very anxious, I'm going from private sector to NHS and its completely different.. But the hospital Trust know that of course.. They mentioned in my interview it was all about transferable skills.
The role I'm going to is a band 5 role which I feel extremely fortunate about, my friends mum has worked in the NHS for 30 years in an administrative role and said its very rare for someone without sector experience to go straight into a band 5..suppose I hope I live up to their expectations..
