Is there another whole day of special programmes and mournful music?

@Shoxfordian

Watch Netflix or sky or read a book
Can't afford netflix , sky or a smart t.v, and I've read all the books I have due, to y'know, lockdown. Hmm. Why do people feel the need to post such patronising rubbish?

For future reference trappedsincesundaymorning, assuming you have a smart phone, a Chromecast costs thirty quid and will effectively allow you to use your current TV as a smart TV, showing BBC iPlayer, All4, ITV player etc (if it has an HDMI socket which most do). Other similarly priced dongles are available.

If you don’t have thirty quid then that doesn’t help of course but worth suggesting because access to the huge range of content on free screening services on your TV does make a big difference to your entertainment options.

@FourWordsImMuNiTy

If they postpone Line of Duty I’m rioting.
Seconded. 🙋‍♀️
OliverBabish · 10/04/2021 11:03

It’s the radio stations playing sad songs that is doing my head in. I’m only running about on short errands, but it’s enough to make anyone feel depressed.

Wellpark · 10/04/2021 11:33

Oliverbabish
I agree completely!!

Nitgel · 10/04/2021 13:03

Radio 2 played I love you just the way you are by Billy Joel which made me snigger a bit

Mamamia456 · 10/04/2021 13:07

Go and find something else to do? Why are people so reliant on the TV for entertainment these days?

Oh for heaven’s sake! I like to listen to the radio (radio 2 usually) as I go about my day. I’m not asking for patronising suggestions of other things to do; I read books thank you. I’m asking if anyone knows when schedules will return to normal.

You have access to the internet, if it's not available online no one here knows unless the controller of tv programmes happens across this Grin

LakieLady · 10/04/2021 13:43

I must admit, I briefly contemplated subbing to Netiflix last night, but I rewatched series 2 of Line of Duty instead. I boycott Sky and Virgin for ethical reasons, and use Amazon as little as possible, so won't be getting any of their services.

Having said that, Netflix is probably owned by some dodgy outfit with offensive views, so I'll check them out if I get close to succumbing again.

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 10/04/2021 13:47

There’s enormous amounts of content on All4 and iPlayer to be fair LakieLady. IPlayer has really upped its game on movies in particular.

GlubGlubGlub · 10/04/2021 13:49

I’m still reeling from the fact that they cancelled gardener’s world! I look forward to it all week at the moment!

itsgettingwierd · 10/04/2021 13:50

Just been out and listened to BBC radio 2. All mournful ballads.

Was caught out by songs that have been played at friends musicals in the past so wish I had turned over instead of engaging and waiting for some chat.

I did. I took the children out to a big park this afternoon and had to turn the radio off driving there. The station was full of sycophantic text-ins, read in the presenter very bestest 'sad voice'. That wasn't even BBC radio, which I was obviously avoiding like another plague at the moment.
