To ask what age you would let your kids go to the park alone?

Would you let a 7 year old girl and 10 year old boy to go to the park alone? Park is a two minute walk round the corner but cannot be seen from my house. No roads to cross on the way, just a huge big grassy area.

Its such an area-dependent question, and of course depends on the children themselves. In my previous neighbourhood the children all roamed from garden to garden, and to the park across the street, in a little gang, the youngest was 3! (I wasn't keen on that), whereas where I live now has no pavements so nowhere for children to play out, and the nearest park is across the main road so I didn't let DD go by herself until she was 7.
