Entertaining while entertaining?

Another thread just made me wonder...
When you host people for dinner and drinks, do provide some sort of entertainment as well? Or just chats following food and alcohol?

We have a dressing up box full of stuff.
Everyone takes their turn to appear through the silver fringed curtain (smoke machine on full) and belt out a song in pub singer style.
Then I get the contents of my kitchen cupboards out, put it all on a wallpaper pasting table and we play a version of hmmm generation game? I take an item off the table and whoever gets it right, necks a bottle of Malibu.
