Child squirting water at stranger

115 replies

LudoBear · 05/04/2021 18:49

Group of children aged around 6 to 10 playing with water pistols. Somebody walks past and one squirts water 3 or 4 times at the person. Person is not known to the child.

As the parent of the child, how would you react?

As the person who has been squirted, how would you react?

@Dinnie, you said you would laugh and apologise, that's not an apology. You'd also tell them to fuck off if they didn't accept your laughing apology
What kind of role model are you?
Just don't let them do it to people who aren't part of the game, it's not difficult.
It doesn't make someone 'snooty' because they don't find it funny
Your post is soul destroying

Fuebombaa · 06/04/2021 12:23

@Dinnie aren’t you a hard one. We all know you’d be crying and begging if someone was nasty to your precious crotchgoblins Hmm

msbevvy · 06/04/2021 12:41

I've never heard of this. Just read up a bit on it. Will definitely be avoiding Poland at Easter time.

@HermioneWeasley

I’m not surprised to hear that the parents of badly behaved kids are anti social cunts.
Yep and i'd have probably said that to the lot of them because i'm a gobshite
Bloodypunkrockers · 06/04/2021 13:32

@Dinnie

As the parent I'd most likely apologise whilst laughing a little and telling my child not to do that again and prompt them to also apologise. If the "Victim" got silly about it I'd tell the to fuck off.

As the "Victim" I'd most likely laugh about it and say not to worry.

It's only a little water kids are kids, there is no malice in it. Mist of us have done something similar

Have we?
amusedbush · 06/04/2021 13:46

I don't have kids but if I did, I'd make the child apologise, I'd apologise and I'd take the water pistol from them.

I'd be fucking raging if I was sprayed with water. I'm autistic with sensory issues and I can't abide the feeling of water on my face or hands. Obviously I clean myself with water but getting soaked unexpectedly would really upset me.

The fact that the adults all laughed along just shows that they're a bunch of cunts passing their bad behaviour onto their children.

Butwasitherdriveway · 06/04/2021 13:48

The squirtee 🤣

Januaryissodull · 06/04/2021 13:53

Gosh this has made me cross. I can't believe the adults were laughing along.

If my child squirted a stranger then they would be told off and made to apologise. I might even take the water pistol away.

I have witnessed and been on the receiving end of this sort of thing before, it's definitely not acceptable to squirt strangers.

Civilised people understand this. Yes children sometimes misbehave, but it's definitely kelly on the parents to stop them.

@Butwasitherdriveway

The squirtee 🤣
Grin i am not sure that's even a word TBF.
2bazookas · 06/04/2021 14:23

As a parent, I would make my child apologise. Then the water pistol would be taken away for the rest of the day. Next time they wanted to play water pistols, they would be reminded , its okay to wet your friends; you will NOT wet passers by. Remember last time, how I took the gun away? If it happens again, I'll take the watergun away and you won't get it back.

Butwasitherdriveway · 06/04/2021 14:24

What if OP squirted back? Would she be a squirty squirtee

Butwasitherdriveway · 06/04/2021 14:24

Strangers squirted me a few times back in my younger days

SkankingMopoke · 06/04/2021 14:46

Last summer there was a car driving round our area soaking pedestrians with a water pistol. It went on for weeks, and a number of people were quite shaken up by the initial panic of not knowing what had been poured over them. It must be an offence as the police investigated and caught them. It turned out not to be youngsters, surprisingly. I doubt the police would have acted in this case OP as a one-off, but it's worth bearing in mind if it they are seen out again.

If it was a really hot day I'd be pretty annoyed at being squirted, and think what a bunch of arseholes they are but not act on it or give them more satisfaction to see it'd annoyed me. If at today's chilly 4 degrees, I'd be having words...

Butwasitherdriveway · 06/04/2021 14:48

One of my pupils in work couldn't possibly understand why we had a massive incident after he was seen running through the school waving a plastic gun, or why someone might be upset to have an unidentified liquid landing on their face.

It baffles me.

Naunet · 06/04/2021 17:06

I’d be pretty pissed off. If I got squirted and then asked the kid not to do it again, and they did it 3 more times, like fuck would I laugh! How is disrespecting someone’s boundaries funny? Not a great lesson to teach children.
