bootolou · 05/04/2021 18:09

I've name changed just in case as this could be outing but tbh I bet lots of people with my name use Mn.

My name is boo (yes, really Grin)
and tbh i've always disliked it, it reminds me of those cockerpoo/doodletzu/whateverpoo dogs for some reason Grin
By mistake a friend uses english as a second language called me Lou.
And it just felt really right? Shock
I like how it's similar to boo. Wibu to change my name?? Grin

Hey Lou, hope you’re having a good Tuesday. You are most definitely NBU to want to change your name. Go for it! 👍🏻

Hazelnut5 · 06/04/2021 11:29

What a nice thread! Go for it.

Twinkie01 · 06/04/2021 11:36

Hi Lou, do you not think Louisa or something that's not a name for a toilet?

londonbrick · 06/04/2021 11:59

Lou ~ if you're in the UK ~ change it for free here.

littlepattilou · 06/04/2021 12:01

@bootolou

LOU is not an actual real name.

Then again, neither is BOO. Wink

tttigress · 06/04/2021 12:03

Is Boo your first or second name?

Personally I quite like Boo!!

Alreadyinmypyjamas · 06/04/2021 12:17

Lou, is Boo short for anything or is that the full name?

Dithercats · 06/04/2021 12:17

ONS has no registrations of Boo in the UK 🤔......is it a nickname or short for something?

You can make life easier and just call yourself Lou, keep 'boo' for paperwork purposes. Much easier and won't upset the pesky parents 😉

Lessthanaballpark · 06/04/2021 12:20

I thought you were a Lou the moment you posted 😂

ShoveYerGranny · 06/04/2021 12:24

Definitely change it. You could change it to Louisa or Louise or Lois or Lucy and be Lou for short!

Palavah · 06/04/2021 12:44

Dear Lou, thank you for your interest in the role of .
We would like to invite you for interview on 10th April at 9am.
Etc..

I find that very strange, given that Chris Evans has a daughter called Boo.

Same4Walls · 06/04/2021 13:04

Don't they only record names that are given to more than a certain number of babies in that year, I think its above 3? I highly doubt 30 + years ago there were more than 3 babies called Boo the year the OP was born.

steff13 · 06/04/2021 13:06

Like Boo Radley? No. I would think about changing to Lou, though.

Dithercats · 06/04/2021 13:31

It's Arthur 'Boo' Radley....
The ONS may be over 3 yes 🤔....fascinating especially given Chris Evans child.
I have a child whose name has never come up thats why I find it so interesting

Pinkyavocado · 06/04/2021 13:33

I wouldn’t change it, it’s unusual. But if you want to then go for it!

iguanadonna · 06/04/2021 14:19

Could you change it to Beau? Or a name like Belinda for which Boo could be a plausible nickname?

Louise or Louisa with Lou as short form also really nice. All the Lous I've met have been lovely.

LooseThreads · 06/04/2021 17:47

Don't be daft. And she has already said it isn't.

WinterStrawbsAreLikeTurnip · 06/04/2021 18:11

You do you boo :)

Why not change it. People change all kinds of things about themselves that they dislike.

eeek88 · 06/04/2021 18:38

Hi Lou,
I don’t blame you for wanting to change it to a nice normal name. I know people whose lives have been ruined by their parents’ bizarre naming choices. Very unfair.

MrsFin · 06/04/2021 18:40

Are you Ulrika's daughter? I think she has a Boo.

CroutonsAvatar · 06/04/2021 18:44

I’m going to be the odd one out here, but if I met a Boo I’d say that was an awesome name. And I’m the same age as you. But I can appreciate it most likely wouldn’t feel that way for the person living with it.

Darbs76 · 06/04/2021 18:50

Ulrika’s daughter is Bo

steff13 · 07/04/2021 04:22

It's Arthur 'Boo' Radley....

I was aware of that. But, thanks, I guess?

Grapewrath · 07/04/2021 04:37

Personally I prefer boo to Lou but yanbu it’s totally up to you what you prefer
