What age did you let your teens stay over with boyfriends/girlfriends

DD was 16 October just gone. Has had a boyfriend for about 8 months now, seems a nice sensible lad. She asked me last night if she could stay at his, I said no and she came home when I asked no problems but I'm now wondering if I should have let her?

She hasn't told me if they have had sex but knowing what i was like at that age its most likely. She has been sensible about contraception and we went to the G.P together where she then decided on the depo injection so has had that twice.

She's quite an easy teenager tbh so I know I'm quite lucky and I wonder if I should give her the independence?

My mum started letting me at 16, but before when she wouldn't I would say I was stopping at a friends house, I think at 16 she should be okay.

My Ds was 16 when he started dating a lovely girl. They were such a happy and loving couple. I spoke to her mum before agreeing to ensure she was happy for her DD to stay over. They had met my DS many times and were happy for her to stay at mine. Took them a year for him to stay there. The relationship lasted 4yrs. My DD is 17 and hasnt asked for anyone to stay over.

Also I hope I will be allowing it when mine reach 16(hard to know when they aren't that age, I could say something now and it might be redundant in 10 years in the same way things have changed since I was young), because if they're going to have sex they'll do it anywhere but I think condoms are more likely to be used when it's in a safe place rather than rushing in some fields, I also would hope that mine feel they can talk to me if they need help with the morning after pill or something along those lines.

They don’t have to share a room though! You can let him stay at yours but put him on the sofa? Then they get the nice evening together but you don’t feel like you are encouraging anything.

If they’re 16 it is their decision whether or not they have sex. You don’t get to decide that.

You do get to decide whether your daughter is having comfortable sex in a safe environment with time to explore her feelings or if she’s having crap rushed sex in a car / wood. I mean they aren’t going to pay for a hotel are they.

Let her have sex in her bed at home, don’t force her to find somewhere else to get naked.
