Please tell me what you think - I’ve been asked to go in for a virtual meeting tomorrow on my day off. It will be for around 45 minutes. I was okay about it but just now I’m feeling angry and resentful. I’m a people pleasing doormat and I’m trying to change. Now I don’t know whether I’m being unreasonable about this or I should be pissed off.

What do the rest of you think? Just for context I’ll have one little one at home and other 2 will be in nursery and school. They did arrange meeting on time I told them my little has a nap. I’m thinking of going for meeting and at the end saying something or waiting till I see them face to face.

I’d make sure your child was around - and being chatty/noisy/disruptive.
Not sure if I’d enlighten them of the fact beforehand - I’d be tempted to have replied that baby and I will join you at 11 or whatever time it is but as you’ve already repliedmight just join the meeting with a jolly I’m here and baby is looking forwards to joining in too - then if they say anything just reply with a chirpy - what did you expect - this is my day off to look after baby - if you want me to be present unpaid on my day off it’s both of us or neither!

When I worked part time my days off were non negotiable. Unless it was exceptional circumstances I wouldn't go into work or engage with work at all on my non working days.

I worked elsewhere often on these days so couldn't just drop things and be available. I made this known in the office.

The only stipulation of my employer was that the whole team were available for team meetings on a Wednesday . So everyone worked Wednesdays.

Id say I'm not available that day as I have other commitments on my non working days. Rinse and repeat. Say you'd be happy to attend meetings on your working days if they ask for more.
