Anyone else not seeing friends until they've had a haircut?

I know there are bigger issues but we're still allowed to miss personal grooming.

The rules were slightly eased yesterday but I don't feel like seeing anyone until i can at least get my hair and eyebrows done.
Majority of people seem to look fine even though we've had no salon access for nearly 4 months, but my hair has been growing into a short bob and looks more like a mullet, eyebrows are a state as I can't do my own well.
Been running but haven't been to the gym in 4 months either so just feel flabby.

Honestly don't want to see anyone until after the 12th, anyone else feel like this?

OP posts:
Racoonworld · 30/03/2021 18:32

No, my friends don’t care about how I look, and I want to see them more than I care about my looks.

thevicarstroketwice · 30/03/2021 18:33

@AnyFucker

How sad that you are limiting your life in this way. Did feminism pass you by completely ?
Are you a man?

I can't stand anti-feminists who pretend all feminist have to look unkept, ungroomed and unwashed.

No one is going to shame us for being feminine. (Even if the OP is OTT)

beginningoftheend · 30/03/2021 18:36

No one is going to shame us for being feminine

Feminine is not the same as groomed.

I am both feminine and unkempt Grin

Beenaroundnow · 30/03/2021 18:39

Fuck that. We’re all in the same boat and I can’t wait to get together with my friends. We’ve seen each other in passing or in photos anyway so it won’t be a massive shock and we’ll all have a good laugh at the state we’re in.
I do know a lot of people who were desperate for salons to open last time but this time round they seem to have made their peace with it and probably won’t use them as frequently as before.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 30/03/2021 18:42

@CovergirlPutthebassinyourwalk

I know they won't judge me, I just don't feel confident in myself to go out socialising until I am better groomed.
This is something I think you need to look into. It's not a healthy outlook. 💐
Chihuahuacat · 30/03/2021 18:43

I do get where you’re coming from. I hate zoom so haven’t really done social zoom calls or met friends for walks. We’re more social / meet in a big group type friends.

It’d be nicer if I could get my hair / eyebrows done first, but I’m going to a garden party on Saturday and I can’t wait! They can judge my furry eyebrows all they want.

1Morewineplease · 30/03/2021 18:48

Im sorry that you feel this way. I haven't had my hair seen to in a year and I just accept that. I've put pounds on and I don't deal with brows ( not my concern at all)
If my friends judge me on that then it's their problem, not mine.
You really shouldn't worry about how you look to others.

'Are you a man'

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

AF anti feminist. 🤣

No one is.

Not to mention there's a huge difference between being feminine & being 'groomed' 🙄🙄

AnyFucker · 30/03/2021 18:52

I am feminine because I am a female

Having straggly hair and eyebrows does not make me less so

Hollywhiskey · 30/03/2021 18:57

No because I'm in isolation. Since yesterday of all days.

EveningOverRooftops · 30/03/2021 19:16

Personally I couldn’t give a toss but I really want to wax the wookie off and sort the eyebrows.

I really miss being waxed and now I’m 3 stone lighter I’m pretty sure it’ll be a fabulous way to celebrate to lockdown weight loss

PeonyRose80 · 30/03/2021 19:22

I get this as felt like that on video work calls, but my friends... they don’t care and if they did... they wouldn’t be my friends any longer.

FourTurnings · 30/03/2021 19:25

What’s more important, spending time with friends or the appearance of the dead cells on my head?

stackemhigh · 30/03/2021 19:25

I'm sporting a monobrow and a hank of hair and feeling booooootiful.

stackemhigh · 30/03/2021 19:26

Have seen friends for walks (individually) and couldn't care what I look or they look like.

Londontown12 · 30/03/2021 19:26

Nope !
In actual fact lockdown has made me less aware of what I look like !
First time in my life I have natural coloured hair natural painted colour on my nails and I’ve been doing my own brows which my friend today said looked amazing! (Social distances garden catchup )
Makes me realise that actually I’m just happy to have my freedom xx

Notavegan · 30/03/2021 19:29

I'm hoping for the end of the over groomed look. Natural all the way

Springingintospring · 30/03/2021 19:34

Today I wore an above knee dress to see my friends ... even though I hadn't shaved my legs since last summer!
I was expecting them to call the police or at least body shame me but surprisingly it didn't happen. We just had a great time catching up. Crazy.

mimi0708 · 30/03/2021 19:52

Nope life is too short. Had my haircut done by dh and it actually turned out really well so might never go back to a salon!

thevicarstroketwice · 30/03/2021 20:37

@beginningoftheend

I am both feminine and unkempt Grin

but that's the point, you can be feminist AND feminine, or feminist and "unkept".

You can look like a Barbie Doll with all the trimmings and be a feminist.

It's about freedom of CHOICE.

The anti-feminist idiots trying to make a mockery of women are boring.

thevicarstroketwice · 30/03/2021 20:40

@AnyFucker

no

but neither does having nice hair, a full-face of make-up and a mini-skirt. And still be a feminist.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 30/03/2021 20:41

No, I literally cannot imagine getting in such a mental state about my appearance.

AnyFucker · 30/03/2021 20:43

I agree that having the full face of make up etc does not make you not a feminist

But thinking the lack of it, either for yourself or someone else, makes you lesser is not a feminist principle

CheshireDing · 30/03/2021 20:53

I understand where you are coming from OP, I keep putting my hood up on the school run as I now have a LOT of grey (hair hasn’t been done since about October)

I was booked in just as lockdown 2 happened and after DH using a box dye on me in lockdown 1 and turning my roots finger but the rest a nice blonde I had to get the hairdresser to fix it, then it closed again !

So this time I am waiting, I work from home thank God otherwise I would have gone back to hair dye box.

Luckily it’s curly but def has no style now I also stopped painting my toe nails which is the first in about 20 years.

No one else seems to have big roots like me, not sure what they’re all up to🤷‍♀️

catherineofarrogance80 · 30/03/2021 20:58

My eyebrows and hair are literally so low down my list of priorities right now I couldn't tell you
You sound like you need to be kinder to/about yourself
