That isn't good enough?!

I entered the Motorway services at 9pm
Because I needed to use the loo. I stopped at Birch services on the m62. This really isn't good enough to me, this is the sight I encountered, walking into the female toilets. A propped open door to the lorry park round the back of the service station. Propped open with a crate, I closed the door because frankly I didn't feel safe using the loo with that door open and I told the service station staff afterwards that I'd closed the door and they told me it was left open so people who park round the back of the service station don't have to walk round the building and can just nip into the Female toilet and go through there into the service station to access the service station facilities.

Aibu to expect men to walk round and not through the ladies toilets to access the gents/ Costa whatever ?

That isn't good enough?!

moto-way.com/2021/03/international-womens-day-2021-julie-sturgess/

Here is Moto’s operations manager for the north, the same person to whom the incident at Birch has been reported, telling us how much she cares about women’s issues. Forgive me for being sceptical.

Despite the stirring words of the two Moto execs who have replied to the OP, there is no getting away from the fact that getting the basics of safety and safeguarding right at those sites is the responsibility of the management team. Both the site manager and the area manager. How could they not know about this? And, how could they not have done something about it before now?

Easy to emote about the dreadful experiences of Sarah Everard’s family, as the CEO did. Easy to claim that you aim for the highest standards but never rest on your laurels, as the customer director claimed (rest on his laurels!!! As if Moto were Microsoft or something, rather than a chain of rather down at heel motorway services focused on screwing every penny out of visitors).

Less easy to admit that those sites aren’t being effectively managed. That’s the situation though. No doubt some poor sod on minimum wage will be made the scapegoat but we know from other posts that this isn’t a one off at Birch, and nor is it confined to Birch because a PP saw the same thing at Reading!

Scary!! Glad you reported it. Only would've taken one person with bad intentions to notice the door was always open and wait for their chance to go in.
