This woman. Covid!

There is a woman in fb friends with. She’s not really a friend but she lives nearby and I would say hello. Kids go to school together.

She’s very active on social media. She’s a complete covid denier, doesn’t believe in the virus, masks, the vaccine etc. That’s her choice of course. She posts a lot of conspiracy theories on her Facebook.

Anyway...

She has posted that she feels unwell. Fever, cough, throat etc. There’s nothing to say this is covid as other viruses still around but you don’t know until she’s got a test.

People are telling her she needs to get a test but she is refusing as she doesn’t believe in it. She’s sent her kids to school etc. One is in my DS’s class 😒

Obviously it might not be covid but there’s no way she knows without a test and she’s refusing to do one. Wouldn’t be so bad if she wasn’t out and about and sending her kids to school.

She’s been in trouble before. She was told she had to isolate (she posted that online too) but was seen out and about.

This sounds extreme but she is crazy and I feel like this could cause a massive outbreak in the school community. A community which has lead practically zero cases!

Aibu to be just a little bit peed off with this? I’m not sure where this post will get me. But I feel like I need to vent!

I just feel so annoyed at this attitude tbh. Would you say anything or tell the school? Or just leave it?

I can’t be the only one who’s annoyed at this. We have quite a few mutual friends who live locally who will probably see it.

@GabsAlot

Do you know if her child has turned up today op
They were at school all week as I passed her on school drop off every morning - took a wide berth 😂. I had a response from the head who said there’s been a few complaints about her generally, not just this. Her kids were in also ill (still in school) but not necessarily covid (colds etc) so she may have had the same. Tried getting hold of the mum and she’s not picking up. But still in school later in the week. I just hope the school persuaded her to get a test or what she said on fb was a lie!

Schools are not trying to enforce it at all. We sent home three children for high temperatures. Two our of the three where in the next day- no test and the parent complaining there was nothing wrong why did we send them home. Our slt did nothing.

Blimey. The head said there had been a few complaints about her and not just this? Isn't that incredibly unprofessional?

We had that last year. Then staff member went down with it and whole class had to isolate and a few others.

SLT were on it after that!

@iMatter
I agree. The head should not have said that.

itsgettingwierd · 27/03/2021 07:53

Should say staff member was kid with temp.

I wonder if HT worded it more that not to worry about being identified as they'd have a few concerns raised? Still not great but it's not always easy to say we are aware of problems and keeping an eye without saying as you're not the only one to say something!

itsgettingwierd · 27/03/2021 07:53

Staff member in class with kid with temp.

I'm not sure I should be posting after just 1 coffee 🤣

Our community went from 0 cases to shutting the school because of one child.
The child was in my class. I got ill as did my TA. The other class in our year group also got ill along with sibling of children in my class.
We had cases of children in every single class. 10 staff ill and 30 staff having to isolate.

Seems odd the school can't get hold of her by phone but yet she's taking the kids to school and they have not seen her dropping the kids off? And they have passed on that there have been other complaints which should not have been passed on. Don't know about other school but my children's school you que up and temp is taken before you go into the school gate. so if child has a temperature they would not get in the school. Would be sent home with the parent.
