Light-hearted - It's Baba/Babba not Bubba!

As the original word is baby... It's Baba! Hate the sound of this Bubba nonsense... It's not a Bubble... 😉😂

I refer to my hamster as my 'bubba' alongside a whole host of cutesy vomit-inducing names.... never a child though

Ah in my culture and where I'm from I'd look normal calling baby, babba as that's what we say where I'm from Grin I'm not central European so it is doesn't mean old woman to us and I'm not middle eastern so it's not a male thing either Grin

"Baba" is used here (Northumberland) when talking to a baby/young child sort of in the same way parents use baby-talk as part of language development. For example, if passing the park I would say to my then-baby DC "look at the babas playing in the park" or "wave tatas to all the babas" ('tatters' - bye) or of they fell over or something "poor baba, come get a cuddle". Its a shortened form of "babby" (pronounced to rhyme to "cabby") which means baby.
