Why today? Isn't it the anniversary of lockdown? What's that got to do with the people who have died with covid? Wouldn't the anniversary of the first UK covid death have been more appropriate?

Reading out the names is touching for those involved but are they more worthy people then those who died from other causes ?
On Remembrance Sunday, the names of the fallen are read out. They are the servicemen and women who were killed because of war. They don't read out the names of people who died from other causes.
