AIBU?

To make him walk when he thinks he's getting a lift.

DS has a detention after school today, (Not his fault obviously he just happened to carry on talking after he'd been warned to be quiet during the lesson!) Anyway that's not the point, I've said I'll meet him after because there are no buses to here from there, only the school bus which he'll have missed obviously.
The school is about 2.5 maybe 3 miles away, I'm thinking of walking up with the dog and then walking home with him (and the dog). The plus side is a nice walk for me and the dog and DS (although he won't appreciate it) the downside is he'll probably moan most of the way home because he's expecting me to be in the car.

Outside of Greater London it's quite normal.

I live nowhere near Greater London.

It’s only 3 miles. Can’t see any issues

I'm a bit shocked he doesn't walk anyway. DS 13 walks to school and back every day, there is no school bus or public transport on the route. It is 2.5 miles and very hilly. He too has a heavy bag, it's good exercise. Most of the children walk unless unless a parent drives them, most can't as they are taking siblings to primary school in the opposite direction. Am I missing something?

@RockingMyFiftiesNot
It's actually the closest school to us, geographically but we only recently became part of it's catchment area.

He doesn't walk because he gets the bus. I'm sorry that it's a shock to you and I'm sure you're very proud your DS does walk.

Depends on his age I suppose - when my "delightful" son was in senior school and he got detention he walked home - no arguement.
If he had his phone confiscated the school made the parent pick it up at the end of the day - I wouldnt allow him to have it back for a couple of days
Believe me it worked eventually.
