Ok, I know it's Saturday evening and not especially late, but...

  1. We're in fucking lockdown;
  2. They are shouting, screaming and whooping;
  3. I'm volunteering at a vaccination centre tomorrow morning and want to have an early night.

Please talk me down.

Definitely report them. I'm fed up of all the rule breakers. My DC had 4 days back at school and already someone has tested positive in her class so she's now isolating at home for 2 weeks. So depressing. Why can't people stop having parties, or mixing at the park etc for just a bit longer? Some people are so selfish.

Unreasonabubble · 13/03/2021 22:29

I have never heard of Javelin Arse Confused and Google only seems to bring up references on MN.

LemonMeringueThreePointOneFour · 13/03/2021 22:29

@MuddleMoo - I guess that might confuse them into silence!

OP can I just thank you for volunteering in a vaccination centre. It is a very awesome thing to do.

MuddleMoo · 13/03/2021 22:31

@LemonMeringueThreePointOneFour

And you'd be forever be known as the one with Javelin Arse.

Ps. Nice username

Goldieloxx · 13/03/2021 22:32

Call the police

WinstonsWeirdVole · 13/03/2021 22:32

Just report them, obvs, we’re still in lockdown! Not sure why you wouldn’t Hmm

Also, what is javelin arse?!

Wonderbrush · 13/03/2021 22:33

Report them!!

Whiskeyontherocks · 13/03/2021 22:35

If it's bothering you then report it. The police do attend pretty quickly. I know this because my neighbours reported me last weekend for a noisy party, embarrassingly it was just me, my partner & kids having a zoom party with friends. They should have just text me & told us to stfu (it was only 8pm)

Lullaby88 · 13/03/2021 22:36

Yep defo report them. Wouldv done that straight away. Firstly cuz its against the law and more importantly id want a good nights sleep :)

willibald · 13/03/2021 22:36

Just call the police! My tolerance for people having loud parties in residential areas is approximately zero even in non-Covid times.

LemonMeringueThreePointOneFour · 13/03/2021 22:38

I've reported online. Will be surprised if they respond, tbh.

YANBU. Screaming when you have neighbours nearby who have to hear is incredibly rude. (It's also selfish, idiotic, and earns the intense dislike of everyone who has the misfortune of living within earshot.)

People can enjoy themselves without making that kind of noise.

How did you make so much racket?

OP do you know them, is it worth asking nicely?

MuddleMoo · 13/03/2021 22:39

They might do if they have targets to meet

Arcadia · 13/03/2021 22:43

Same here tonight. Excitable early 20 something girls moved in ND in house attached to ours end of jan, they sometimes do karaoke and it's shrieky. Sometimes have people round too (not many but still not allowed). Pisses me off when I can't see my own family.

Meezer2 · 13/03/2021 22:43

You have my sympathies for both the party and your javelin arse... I've not had JA for a while fortunately but dread it showing up.. hugs.

LemonMeringueThreePointOneFour · 13/03/2021 22:43

Not really - they're quite new and have mainly pissed me off during their short time here. (I did go and say hello and offered tips about the area when they moved in.) Seemingly endless people coming and going, with lots of accompanying door-slamming.

I have phoned the police three or four times in my neighbours due to this. I'm usually live and let live but she pissed me off during the first lockdown by complaining the kids were making too much noise. The police came every time I called and the music was turned off.

It shouldn’t be two weeks. We had to isolate starting Friday and should be back on Monday the 22nd.
