My DD8 had a heart transplant a few years ago now, she has been struggling this year on and off after a few good years. She has some changes in her cardiac echo however they said they would unlikely get worse they wasn’t really sure on the significance of the findings.
At 5.45 tonight she went in to perri arrest.
They were amazing and everything had happened so fast, she is stabilised in CICU. No one is allowed in apart from me she looks very peaceful, I am waiting for consultants.
I have been on here a while and sending myself crazy looking at the clock with no one to cry to.
It all happened so fast she was playing in the back and then she came through to say she didn’t feel well. Went to get her some paracetamol and when I came back in she was on the floor.

Cross-posted with you OP. Sorry you are going through such an ordeal. I know a couple of cardiologists & a cardio nurse, maybe I'm biased as they are my friends & family but they are the best of the best. They'll do everything they can for your child. I hope you manage to get some rest tonight x

Another hand to hold.
Get someone to drop off a bag to the hospital for you with a mobile charger/battery pack, toothbrush/change of clothes (make them comfy lounge clothes type) and some drinks and snacks. They’ll be allowed to drop them at reception/A&E to be collected by the ward.

It's the loneliest feeling being in hospital with a sick child, my ds was admitted with suspected meningitis at the same age, my dad came & sat with me but it didn't take away the fear. Your dd is already a fighter having gone through a heart transplant, she is in the right place, they will get to the bottom of what is wrong, the not knowing is sometimes worse than knowing exactly what is wrong, at least then they have a plan & you can see a way forwards. I'm a night owl so I will be around for the next couple of hours if you need to chat x

That is so tough you can't be in cicu with her. Do they have a family room you could be more comfortable in? Maybe lie down. Our Icu has a family room with a sofa bed type thing.

Please take five mins for some self care, a drink, a plastic sandwich or a choc bar. You need to keep your strength up too.

Handhold from here OP. I'm so sorry you are going through this. Your DD sounds like an absolute fighter though. Will be praying for you both, I hope you don't mind.

Poor baby. And so frightening for you. I hope she has a good night and you can rest a little.

Sending lots of get well wishes. Glad that she is getting the specialist care that she needs. Really hope her condition stabilises over the next 24 hours. With all that’s going on, really glad that they have let you stay and be with her.
