My DD8 had a heart transplant a few years ago now, she has been struggling this year on and off after a few good years. She has some changes in her cardiac echo however they said they would unlikely get worse they wasn’t really sure on the significance of the findings.
At 5.45 tonight she went in to perri arrest.
They were amazing and everything had happened so fast, she is stabilised in CICU. No one is allowed in apart from me she looks very peaceful, I am waiting for consultants.
I have been on here a while and sending myself crazy looking at the clock with no one to cry to.
It all happened so fast she was playing in the back and then she came through to say she didn’t feel well. Went to get her some paracetamol and when I came back in she was on the floor.

I had sepsis 2 years ago, different circumstances to your lovely DD as my infection was in my womb but the antibiotics started to work very quickly. They're able to culture the bacteria and change/administer the antibiotics accordingly. She is in good hands and will be well looked after, especially being on the CICU.

Please make sure you eat and drink, you're bound to be in shock.

My neighbour heart transplant patient of 20 years, had this a couple of years ago, happened when they were out shopping. He was back in hospital for a time, then could not drive for a while. Took him a bit to get his strength back, he is now back to fighting form. They never found out what caused it but it has not recurred.

Thank you for your kind words. They are concerned and said that It will be a very rough 24 hours to see how she responds.
We are at a sordid cardiac hospital so know we were in the best hands. I just feel useless. They think it’s linked to the blood infection she had over xmas. That has returned and also spread and caused acute endocarditis.
She is very hot and they are struggling to keep her blood pressure stabilised.
There is no parents sleeping in cicu unfortunately but I’m not leaving her tonight I will sit in the chair.
