My DD8 had a heart transplant a few years ago now, she has been struggling this year on and off after a few good years. She has some changes in her cardiac echo however they said they would unlikely get worse they wasn’t really sure on the significance of the findings.
At 5.45 tonight she went in to perri arrest.
They were amazing and everything had happened so fast, she is stabilised in CICU. No one is allowed in apart from me she looks very peaceful, I am waiting for consultants.
I have been on here a while and sending myself crazy looking at the clock with no one to cry to.
It all happened so fast she was playing in the back and then she came through to say she didn’t feel well. Went to get her some paracetamol and when I came back in she was on the floor.

Handhold and gentle virtual hugs for you and yours.

MovedByFanciesThatAreCurled · 07/03/2021 21:35

Tell us about her OP. You can share what led her to have a transplant if you want. You could share what’s she likes and what she doesn’t. What makes her laugh, what makes her tick. Might while away some minutes and stop you thinking about other things

Flowers for you and your lovely girl.

Cheeringmeup · 07/03/2021 21:36

Oh that's so awful. A gentle handhold and sending all my love and wishes for a positive outcome Flowers

Neverspeakofthisagain · 07/03/2021 21:37

That must be terrifying OP. I'm sorry you are going through this.

As others have said, she is in the right place - they know what to do and they will be giving her the best chance of a good outcome. You are doing your job - being her mum - brilliantly. You are present, you are advocating for her and that is exactly where you should be.

Wishing you and your DD a quick turnaround and full recovery.

adeleh · 07/03/2021 21:37

I wish I could sit next to you and just put my arm round you.

Her medical team know what they are doing and she’s in the safest place.

Take care of yourself.

JillsFlapjacks · 07/03/2021 21:38

Mummacake · 07/03/2021 21:39

Handhold here opFlowers

Troublewaters2021 · 07/03/2021 21:39

@MovedByFanciesThatAreCurled she is the most amazing child ! I know she is mine so I am slightly bias.
She went in to heart failure due to a form of cardiomyopathy.
She was in hospital a very long time and also suffered a stroke.
She loves music, she plays guitar and drums.
I have seen her sick previously even after the transplant but she has not been this bad since. I think it’s making me nervous that everything will be undone and we will back to square 1

StylishMummy · 07/03/2021 21:45

Hand hold and very gentle Covid-friendly hugs. I've been in a similar position to your DD when I was a child and having my parents nearby was the most comforting thing Thanks

LoveBeingAMum555 · 07/03/2021 21:46

Sending you love and strength. In December 2019 my son was in hospital slipping away from us, he couldnt even sit up without help and I remember the day when I had to beg him to keep fighting. He got better, looking at him now you would never know what he has been though. It is possible, hold on to that thought.
