To ask what your best baby gift was?

A relative has just had a very long time awaited baby girl. My mind has gone blank as to what gift to give them and her.
With a budget of £50, what was the best baby gift you received that wasn’t clothes or equipment?

Cook voucher.

Wondermule · 07/03/2021 13:51

Car seat blanket that will fit this winter

Hellzbellz25 · 07/03/2021 13:51

Asda gift card, I think it was £100 but £50 would still be fab, I bought nappies and wipes and milk until it ran out

JudgeRindersMinder · 07/03/2021 13:52

They’ll have babysitters coming out of their ears and we’re quite a distance away so that’s off the table!

A huge tub of Sufdocream.

Morrck blanket or COOK vouchers - www.cookfood.net

There are some great little personalised books on Etsy, the ones I’ve got are about finding their name or a personalised story of their life.

Some bunting with her name spelled out on it. She still has it on her bedroom door and she’s nearly 9!

A sensory kit box. You could make your own or companies will make them and send them out.

brokengate · 07/03/2021 14:02

Tuppence and crumble star wrap

Nellie850 · 07/03/2021 14:03

www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/265885836 These are also great and so cheap! Can be used for teething but also holding things on buggy and to get baby used to different textures.

A cast iron Le Creuset casserole dish. Still have it 9 years later, and still love it.

ghostyslovesheets · 07/03/2021 14:18

DD1 got a stripy cloth with a bears head from my dad when she was born - Mr Sucky Bear - my god she loved him - he fell to bits when she was 7 so we got another version - she's 19 and still sleeps with him!

user1493413286 · 07/03/2021 14:22

Aden and anais muslins were amazing, a insulated cup, a nappy changing box that we keep in the lounge with all the bits in it, a Ewan the sheep,

Homemade food - ready to cook, an ear thermometer, a gro egg and a bouncer

Wonderbly name book, really nice rhymes for his name and it'll stay with him a long time.

With summer coming up and a chance of finally getting out with a baby, a large snoozeshade for the pushchair could be nice. (Don't bother with small as the big one will fit fine and last longer).

eggontoast2 · 07/03/2021 14:34

Babyblooms gift box, used all the items and used the box it came in as a memory box. Gutted I didn't get one with my second baby.
Play mat
Bouncy chair
Silver photo frames
Baby blanket

BabbleBee · 07/03/2021 14:35

Lunch delivered - that was an absolute life saver on day 3!

herbivore15 · 07/03/2021 14:42

I would agree with the sensory box suggestion! My six month old has gotten so much use out of hers. I would say the most useful presents we received were books and baby sleeping bags.

wigglerose · 07/03/2021 14:53

A massive bag of newborn size nappies wrapped around a box of celebrations (which, sadly, was empty) in there like a cake.

I would have liked nipple shields and infacol since we didn't get these until after we needed them. A baby keepsake box would be lovely too. I need to get one to keep things like the cards we got, pictures, hair from first haircut egg.

I've been given 3 baby memory books and haven't touched a single one due to never have both hands free 😂
