To ask what your best baby gift was?

A relative has just had a very long time awaited baby girl. My mind has gone blank as to what gift to give them and her.
With a budget of £50, what was the best baby gift you received that wasn’t clothes or equipment?

A tuppence and crumble star wrap - Nobody actually bought us one but I got one off marketplace after seeing others rave about them.

Insulated cup, cup holder for the pram, extra long charging cable and nice teabags and chocolate.

Sophie giraffe - I didn’t get the hype but she’s never out of my little one’s mouth at the moment.

Linky loops - fun to play with on their own, different colours and textures, can attach other toys to pram or play gym (we used them to lower the play gym toys a bit when little one was tiny and not interested and it got her to start engaging with it), can string them across a laundry basket and sit them in it when they’re bigger and you just need 5 mins!, can use for counting, colour sorting etc as they get older.

Book collections such as Usborne phonics, Beatrix potter, Julia Donaldson, Mr Men ect. The kind of thing it’s lovely to receive as a gift without having to trawl the internet yourself looking for a good deal.

For a more personal touch you could pick
a few of your/your child’s favourite books individually and get the posh gift editions.

I loved the star wrap from tuppence and crumble (bought in the right size to fit baby in winter). It was great for the car and much better than the morrck car seat blankets in my opinion. Hopefully that doesn't count as clothing. I also really loved receiving a gorgeous jellycat toy, which is my usual go-to gift now.

Some of my favourites I've received for new baby this week:

Tuppence and tumble fleece star wrap

Rattles and Teethers from Natural Baby Shower

Home made hamper including some Pure Baby clothes, face masks and pamper things for me and gin and tonic

River Island outfit for baby (expensive that I wouldn't buy myself)

My mother in law made us a little medicine box with calpol, snuffle babe, nappy cream, ear thermometer, nappy cream, infacol, lanisoh etc which came in handy.

I was given this and loved it. So nice to still get stuff over a period of time.

Absolutely brilliant suggestions!! I’m a bit out of the loop as my kids are older, and so many of these things just weren’t available when mine were small
