I'm bored of people who have never actually looked at MN

Or spent any time reading the thousands of threads that are full of advice, support and humour on here, who think they have a right to comment on what goes on here.

Feels a lot like misogyny with a dash of ageism.

I don't understand the hate. So much fun, and support. I never tell anyone I MN.

@FelicityBeedle

I had a deleted message on another thread earlier, one on here and I called myself another discouraged word. That link says three strikes and you’re out for 6 weeks. I rely on mumsnet to keep me sane half the time! Don’t want to risk if
I think you’ll be ok, you can call yourself a discouraged word...just not anyone else

So i can say im a dozy twat but I can’t call someone else a dozy twat as thats a personal attack

I love MN, I find it supportive, there's great advice and it's entertaining. If they don't, then I suggest finding another forum more suited, not everyone has to use the same one...

picklemewalnuts · 03/03/2021 21:38

Felicity, they won't chuck you off in one night. A deletion is not the same as a strike. Sometimes things are deleted, but they are not considered 'strike worthy'. I can't say I totally understand. To be honest, it sometimes seems as if it depends how annoyed 'someone' is by it.
Also, sometimes things are deleted because the mods/reporters misunderstand what someone is saying. There are errors made.

That said, MN has a full on task enabling debate while attempting to avoid the ire of oppressive no platforming people who don't want this conversation to happen.

So don't panic, basically. They certainly aren't out to get you!

The cancel culture can be ridiculous on Twitter. Especially when it challenges the integrity of someone as talented and intelligent as J.K.Rowling.

Your loss Twitter.

My first perspectives of mumsnet was the daily mail one of a certain beaker, it's a very good resource for various topics and perspectives.

Doyoumind · 03/03/2021 22:09

MN consistently outperforms Google when it comes to trying to identify random books, TV shows or the name of an actor with almost no details to go on. For that alone, it's an important resource.

@Stellaris22

Going to get flamed, but, you can't deny the transphobia on this forum.

There's a lot of great advice and humour too, but the reputation for being a transphobic site is justified.

Nope. It's really not.
Doyoumind · 04/03/2021 21:43

I've come back to my thread to celebrate all that is good about MN despite what people who have never even bothered to have a proper look around like to say about it.
