She throws herself at the tv dramatically, wailing and looks for the the remotes. So I put on something and she looks disgusted and goes to find the remote again to hand to me. I say what would you like and she makes a crying noise. I change it to something else. She makes a face, Mumma she says and points at the TV . I have no idea. I ask would you like Bus, nothing. Ahhhhhhh.

Tried nursery rhymes on YouTube/ Peppa Pig / Sarah & Duck she hates everything. I hide the remotes, wailing clinging to the tv unit starts ... No one can say I'm not trying. She watches only 15 seconds of anything before crying.

Why do you want her too? Mine weren't interested till nearer 2. They don't need TV. It won't do her any harm for it to be switched off all day. It would be the last of my worries!!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 02/03/2021 20:47

Put "in the night garden" on - it's like crack cocaine for kids.

Alternatively, watch something you like and she can join in if she fancies.

FoxyTheFox · 02/03/2021 20:49

Bluey on Disney Plus

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 02/03/2021 20:50

Ds liked Jeremy Kyle at that age ! He couldn't understand it thank God I think it was all the whooping and cheering lol
He also liked ' pointless ' !

StayOrGoOrWhat · 02/03/2021 20:54

Try CocoMelon on Netflix or YouTube. You might regret it but mine loves it!

ViceVersa · 02/03/2021 20:59

I was going to say put Night Garden on, it will drive you crazy very quickly but as a starter program they seem to love it.

ViceVersa · 02/03/2021 21:01

Actually don’t encourage the watching of TV! My 2 year old can now switch on the tv and work the sky remote as well as I can. She goes crazy if she’s not in charge and her programs aren’t on, I wish I’d never introduced her to kids tv Confused

MerryDecembermas · 02/03/2021 21:03

She probably wants you to play a game with her. My 14m old loves pushing buttons on the remote to see what it does!

SpacePug · 02/03/2021 21:08

The baby club on iPlayer is good. My DS age 2 loves cocomelon on netflix/YouTube. Also twirlywoos on iPlayer, and Mickey mouse clubhouse on Disney+. He loves the hotdog song at the end 🤣

SuddenArborealStop · 02/03/2021 21:13

My 1 year old just loves the remote and changing the channel, turning it off and on ,content less important than control ... drives her brother mad we got an identical dummy remote but she knows

Onedropbeat · 02/03/2021 21:18

I best she’s looking for blippi

Onedropbeat · 02/03/2021 21:19

Mine is weirdly mesmerised by Mary popping

tabulahrasa · 02/03/2021 21:20

@Ninkanink

Animals. Most children absolutely love watch nature programmes. Not the children’s ones though. Straight up Richard Attenborough.
Ok... I’m really pretty sure you meant David not Richard...

But now I can’t get it out of my head that you might be recommending things like the great escape for a toddler Grin

Ninkanink · 02/03/2021 21:20

Omg

Ninkanink · 02/03/2021 21:21

Or Jurassic Park 😆😆

Ninkanink · 02/03/2021 21:22

Sigh I don’t know why I did that...I was definitely thinking David, not Richard!

Hopeishere52 · 02/03/2021 21:24

My son loved the baby Einstein dvds at that age and Percy the park keeper, I think it was the music and gentleness of them.

nattiee · 02/03/2021 21:26

My one year old loves teletubbies but now it's Zog. He absolutely loves it

Oysterbabe · 02/03/2021 21:26

Teletubbies. My DS loved it at that age.

WhatsErFace2020 · 02/03/2021 21:27

@Theforest

At that age, my youngest hated everything except Baby TV. Its a channel on Sky aimed at babies and toddlers. Its not bad really. He hated cbeebies and never watched it. He progressed onto Disney Channel after.
Came on to say Baby TV On sky 👍🏻 👍🏻
CroutonsAvatar · 02/03/2021 21:32

My kid loved Pointless 😂

hellohelpfuladvice · 02/03/2021 21:33

@SleepingStandingUp

But also "children shouldn't watch TV until they are old enough to spell Television backwards and even then only for 10 minutes a week otherwise they'll never speak and become layabouts glued to the goggle box until their dotage"
I am being unreasonable to even own a TV & child at the same time 😂 Maybe she's actually complaining it's all rubbish and she wants to go to the park... again

Coco melon is a big hitter in my house, the most annoying family ever but the kids love them! Stay clear of the ayples and banaynays song tho you’ll want to launch your tv through a window after hearing that on repeat for the 80th time😂

NeverHadANickname · 02/03/2021 21:37

Mine loves Coco melon and chuchu TV I think it is called. Also Sesame Street. All on YouTube. He loves Baby Shark too but 🤦‍♀️

tabulahrasa · 02/03/2021 21:50

@Ninkanink

Sigh I don’t know why I did that...I was definitely thinking David, not Richard!
Think is... I knew you were, I just couldn’t get the image of sitting a one year old down in front of Richard Attenborough films out of my head though, lol
