To think crop tops not for 6-7 year olds?

Bought this:
www.marksandspencer.com/pure-cotton-paris-camo-slogan-top-6-14-yrs-/p/clp60485351

for my tall 5 year old. Didn't realise it was a crop top, pics were small on phone and not happy, she won't be wearing it. On her, her midriff is definitely more out compared to the model in pics anyway. Am I in the majority here? I'm not keen on skinny jeans or bikinis for this age either and realise (at least in the jeans case) that they're widely sold.
YABU - this cropped style is fine for 6-7 year olds
YANBU- it's too teenage.

Before I clicked on the link I was expecting something far more revealing but no, that top looks fine. Skinny jeans are like leggings but less comfortable and my daughter lived in those for years, not at all inappropriate. Bikinis are fine for children too as long as they’re comfortable and designed with children in mind- no triangle tops or tie waists etc. And far more practical than a swimming costume really as less fiddly to take off if the child needs the toilet urgently.

Its hardly a crop top. Apart from the slight impracticality of long sleeves and some midriff on show I really don't see anything wrong with it. Op would have been shocked with young dish who spent half the time pulling her top over her head!

Whats wrong with bikinis on girls? Boys are allowed to show their tummies why not girls? If its a love islandesque thong bikini that would be innapropriate but most children's bikinis are just pants and a crop top

And again skinny jeans, do your children not wear leggings? They are just slim jeans, much better than having bits of jean flapping about

Its not impractical or too old in my eyes. It is keeping them warm and its a nice colour and design. Nice for spring with long sleeves for the cooler days but shorter to allow a bit of air flow if it warms up.

I don't see what is the problem with seeing a girl's tummy?

I’m not a fan of crop tops for girls.

Anyone who says “what’s the problem” might ponder why, other than swimming clothes, why don’t boys clothes ever show off as much flesh as girls’ clothes? The same argument is made when they insist girls must wear make up and barely any clothes for dancing to have a chance of winning, but boys don’t. To me it’s unnecessarily dressing up girls.

It’s entirely a parent’s choice what they do, but those are my reasons for not doing so.

@minniemoocher

I refused to let mine have cropped tops until they were old enough to work to earn money to buy them eg 16. They didn't have bikinis either until 15/16 - nothing wrong with swim suits.

Skinny jeans however I have no issue with as they don't expose them in the same way

What's wrong with someone seeing their stomach? Genuine question

MintyMabel

They don't need to given the first sign of sun around here and all the boys take their tops off completely.
