Is this really essential surgery for a perfectly healthy person?

Yes, 100%
Hope that helps.

cataclysmiclife · 23/02/2021 21:36

The NHS wouldn't provide a procedure that wasn't required.

Also it's non of your business.

HermioneWeasley · 23/02/2021 21:37

If the NHS are doing it, it must be medically necessary. They won’t do it for cosmetic reasons (unless you’re trans)

flowersWB · 23/02/2021 21:39

Surely if the reduction has been approved then it's necessary for the health and well-being of the recipient?
I'm not sure how much demand there has been for plastic surgeons in the covid wards?
Possibly business as usual in Plastic surgery...

YABU. Large breasts can cause crippling back pain.

Crystalcrazy · 23/02/2021 21:41

Not selfish at all, if it will improve their quality of life just be happy for them Smile

WineInTheWillows · 23/02/2021 21:42

Cross post @Level32

luxxlisbon · 23/02/2021 21:42

YABU and none of your business.

MrBullinaChinaShop · 23/02/2021 21:43

The NHS are the ones deciding whether it’s necessary or not, and they’ve obviously decided that it is.
YABU.

Izzy24 · 23/02/2021 21:43

Crippling neck, back, shoulder pain.

Definitely essential surgery.

TooYoungToNotice · 23/02/2021 21:43

The NHS wouldn't be doing it on a perfectly healthy person. You can't just rock up and ask for smaller boobs. If someone is having this done then their life will be being seriously impacted by their breast size, so of course they need it.

Emeraldshamrock · 23/02/2021 21:44

Yes of course it is.
I imagine it is tough on your back.

Aahotep · 23/02/2021 21:44

Having very large breasts can cause a lot of pain and they only approve surgery if it's really bad.
So no it's not selfish.

skippy67 · 23/02/2021 21:44

YABU.

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 23/02/2021 21:44

Mind your own tits love.

ellenpartridge · 23/02/2021 21:44

Yabu the patient obviously isn't perfectly healthy or she wouldn't be needing this and getting it on NHS?

whenwillthemadnessend · 23/02/2021 21:44

Yes Yrbu

KeepWashingThoseHands · 23/02/2021 21:45

Wind your neck in. Non-essential to you could be life debilitating chronic pain and all sorts to someone else.

I know lockdown is boring but can you find another hobby.

Cynthia13 · 23/02/2021 21:46

Yabu. End of. You obviously have no idea of the complications large breasts can cause. Please educate yourself.

Vallmo47 · 23/02/2021 21:47

YABVU, if it applied to you it would be a different story.

chinateapot · 23/02/2021 21:47

If it’s being done on the NHS it will not be being done on a “perfectly healthy person”. It will be to meet a health need. It was hard to get these covered by the NHS pre-pandemic, can only imagine it’s even tougher now

user143677433 · 23/02/2021 21:47

YABU

Mykidshatepastabake · 23/02/2021 21:47

For some people yes it is essential surgery and can really improve quality of life so YABVU.
